They’re a dark force user who fans are theorising about on forums. Marrock will have a few episodes before being cut in half with no further explanation or backstory to who they are. That’s how STAR WARS works.

Honestly this. It would be cool if there's a big mystery behind the character. But like you said he's more than likely going to get cut down.

I do agree for the most part but wouldn't put it past Filoni to go with a deep pull.
Still waiting for Shadows of the Empire references to show up in the current Disney+ shows somewhere.

I caught up with the first two episodes. Normally I would have waited until the whole show was done but there were so many spoilers floating out there and people wanting to talk about it I had to watch it otherwise I would have gotten spoiled.

Anyway, so far a very strong start and I enjoyed it a lot. Much better than the recent output. Mando season 2 and Andor were the only last ones I enjoyed, the rest have been rubbish

I only have minor nitpicks. Like Sabine cut her hair too short, would have liked to seen it a couple of inches longer like her animated counterpart. Always surprised people complain that she recovered from that lightsaber stab. Honestly, the Star Wars universe is so far ahead technologically that I have no problem believing they could rebuild or regenerate her tissue as long as they got her to a medical facility quickly enough.

The biggest one for me, the pacing of the conversations are a bit slow, not sure what it is but the gaps between the back and forth between characters are too large, they need to trim them a few frames each way and it would vastly improve. It can make the dialogue feel a little stilted or lifeless.

And oh man they NAILED Chopper, so happy to see him again, I do hope by the half way point they get most of the crew back together again. Zeb needs to come back

I certainly hope so. It would make more sense than any of the other "guess who he is!" routes they could take.

Well, there was a YT-2400 light freighter in Andor and in Rise of Skywalker. Loved SOTE, defiantly needs more than just background nods.

That was pretty disappointing in Wandavision. Still getting the 4K steelbook though.

"I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of Star Wars nerds suddenly cried out in pleasure as they masturbated furiously..."

Ok, I watched the 1st two eps.

Disclaimer:

Original Trilogy is perfection
Prequels were an abortion
I actually liked The Last Jedi (minus the Marry Poppins scene - like seriously, what in the F?)
Rogue One rocked
All the other movie spinoffs sucked
Obi-Wan was a steaming turd
1st season of Mando was great, diminishing returns after...
I loved Andor

Never seen rebels or read any of the novels etc. that all the nerds are so riled up about with this latest series.

That said, I quite enjoyed it. Looking forward to where they go from here.

PS. After finding out what character David Tennant 'played' I'm going to be listening really hard for a Scottish accent...

Watching the first episode the lighting and coloring is pretty bad in this. Its not unwatchable bad but they made obstructive choices which I don't see a reason for. Basically the lighting is poor and the colors in a lot of shots look poorly filtered

Watched the first episode this morning before work.

I've never watched any of Clone Wars or Rebels, so I have no idea who any of these characters are or what their relationships are to each other, and this introduction didn't really do a whole lot to fill me in. It felt like it was written specifically for people already familiar with them.

Some of the writing was shaky. The New Republic commander in the opening scene just casually allows an unknown ship to board? Sabine is a Force user and can hold her own against that blonde Force baddie, but struggles against a couple of droids? And again, she gets run through with a lightsaber and survives? I know it's an old joke already, but Ghost Force Qui-Jon's gotta be pretty pissed. Haha! The rock song during Sabine's entrance was totally out of place, and she seems to constantly have this smug look on her face I just wanna slap off.

On the plus side, the visuals were top notch, I do like Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka, and I thought the score was among the most SW-sounding music I've heard in the franchise that's not by John Williams. And the droid isn't annoying as many others in recent movies/shows have been. At least not yet.

Overall, this first episode didn't really wow me. If it wasn't for knowing that Thrawn is popping up I'm not sure I'd feel compelled to keep watching. But I love Thrawn (at least I did in the old EU) and was down for this show just because of him, so I'll try to stick with it in the hope it's ultimately worth watching and gives me the Thrawn I know and love.

There was nothing in Rebels or these past two episodes to suggest that she was a force user.

Just that she was trained to weld a light-sabre.

AHSOKA nets 1.2 million U.S. households, on par with Andor, below Mandalorian Season 3 and well below Kenobi's 2 million. Notice that's households, not views. We won't be able to see actual viewership for another three weeks via Nielsen. Andor opened soft only to go on to become the #1 Star Wars series of 2022 worldwide in terms of views, so we'll see what happens.

Oh, okay. That's something that could have been touched on for those unfamiliar with these characters then. What I learned of her in the first episode was that she knew how to use a lightsaber and was apparently trained by Ahsoka, so that naturally led me to believe she was a Force user.

Also, I'm not surprised she could hold her own against a padawan. She's a Mandalorian who's seen plenty of combat and was a welder of the Dark Sabre for a while. Obviously, she was out-matched but I think they got her "power-level" about right in the live-action

This is a case where I'm not understanding the negative comments. I thought the first 2 episodes were very good and I would have no problem saying otherwise. Yeah, there are a couple things that bothered me, but I managed (for the most part) to overlook them. I hope the remainder of the series is as good or hopefully even better. It's a real shame that nobody (if you believe the ratings) is watching, and some refuse to watch (based on what they hear/read) at all...

The biggest problem I have so far is the sloppy editing. It killed the pace and momentum it otherwise have

I wouldn't call it sloppy, I think it's Filoni intentionally playing the silence between characters, aiming for more naturalism in the performances.
