This is the theatrical cut, and his new cut. The theatrical cut will be just like it always it, hopefully properly remastered/timed.

The "uncut", while it is revisionist is something fans have demanded since it came out and he couldn't release due to the MPAA. This is not George Lucas scrubbing history, this is a director giving what most of us have wanted. The original cut, and the uncut.

I bet you think Lucas could not have added a maclunkey and Greedo shooting first because the technology was not there too right?? The problem is that the stuff that should have been put back is now in a revisonist black and white edited version. Sony should not let directors have so much power and should put out the original cut with original colour timing for all their movies. The Raid now exists in a super revisonist version now that is not the original and the cinema colour timing is not on 4k. Revisionist cuts often decrease quality of the cinema version because of less space or edits are made to the cinema version.

Sometimes I like to watch collection videos on yt to get organizational ideas and see what everybody else is doing. Whenever I see "uniformity" on shelves, I cringe. All standard cases. Noooooo. Too boring.

I don't own the Star Wars Trilogy for this exact reason, those were revisionist and he PURPOSELY scrubbed the originals leaving only bootlegs/piracy as an option. This is not the same thing, Savini is inserting the footage that was forcibly cut, and changing the intro to B&W. If he always intended the start to be B&W is irrelevant, because the uncut version is a new cut featuring footage that was supposed to be inserted from the start. THE THEATRICAL CUT IS INCLUDED. Why would he make EVEN MORE EDITS to the Theatrical Cut, if he was including the new Uncut.

You're comparing apples and oranges with the Lucas example.

You do not know what you are talking about. You think that the director is going to colour time the theatrical cut to look like it did in cinemas and then colour time the new cut to look like how he wants it now?? No it will be the same colour except the black and white in the revisonist new cut. Why would Ridley Scott make edits to a theatrical cut when he made a new cut of his movies?? I have been around a while I know how things run thank you very much.

How Giant are we talking? Like Warner special edition or Arrow Shawscope Collection Giant? Or like, typical Hardbox Arrow Video, Vinegar Syndrome esque slipbox? You do realize that Savini is ON RECORD for the last thirty years talking about how this was his original version all along right? It's not revisionist. It isn't like he woke up one day last year and dreamed up a new opening. He literally talks about it on the old commentary track. They didn't want him to have his original opening because they wanted the whole thing in color.
