Come on Paramount go Blu please Cloverfield would look awesome in my Bluray collection, by the way seen the movie thursday midnight and the movie was just awesome. The best time I had at the movies since transformers, if you have not seen it do yourself a favor and go.

I haven't seen it yet, but is the entire movie from the hand-held cam point-of-view? I guess I should get tix for the backrow....

Suprisingly there's about 5 minutes of real NOISY video. It have been filmed with custom made handheld High Definition Digital Panavision Camera. So since it's not Film there's no grain, but there's noise ...

Handheld video should be even more complicated to encode to HD DVD because it more so randomly that this one will be a HORROR to encode and keep the macroblock to the minimal. It's 1.77:1 too

The biggest + is the audio. One of the best audio experience i ever had in theater in years...

So that film definitly need to help of Loseless audio and higher bitrate that BluRay can provide

Compared clips in standard def and then in Hi-def and the picture is awesome,it would be an excellent buy on Blu-ray when Paramount goes back to a neutral standing.

in an interview with JJ Abram's about the film. he said he to do it this way, for 2 reasons. The first to insure that there won't be a sequel for the film, and secondly he wanted the camera to be the person. The camera was confused, couldn't capture exactly what was going on. and told the story as the first person. yeah it was very shaky, yet the movie was great it is definitely worth the release on BD. So paramount please wake up, and forget HDDVD.

I made sure to sit far enough back, and even though at times it gets a little irritating, it's a small price to pay for the scary realistic feeling it gives you.

they are already talking abut a sequel. other wise they wouldn't have had the thing after the credits that they had.

Paramount and Uni would be stupid not to jump ship very soon. Even if they havent switched by the time Cloverfield hits shelves you can be sure that this would be one of Paramounts first titles on blu when they switch back. Right along side Transformers.

I agree with what you say about Transformers. It was a good blockbuster, but extremely over hyped.
I still want to see Cloverfield though.

Thumbs up Wake up and smell the roses Paramount. . .

Great movie! I was skeptical at first. . . but come to like the camera angles (though I did get sick, for a short while nonetheless, and held my breath the entire time!). . .

I would definitely pick this up on Blu! There you go Paramount, there's your incentive to switch exclusivity! I and half this forum will buy. . .
