Thanks. Sounds like it's close to the PS3 game cases.

I want MIMIC on Blu-ray. A great Del Toro movie. Also The Devil's Backbone.

So it's not the girth that matters, it's the length? I've been told otherwise!

I live in North TX and I can't find a single Criterion Blu anywhere. They get a few in every now and then at a local video store, but they just don't get them at Target or Bestbuy. I've never tried Wal mart though, cuz I hate it. I just order mine online.

Copied from another poster in another thread....... more mainstream titles coming....

Newsaskew.com reported that Smith gave some more Chasing Amy details at a recent Q&A session:

Quote:
# In other Bluray news, Kevin and the cast are currently recording new material (another documentary perhaps?) for a “Chasing Amy” Criterion Bluray, making it sound like this dream will finally become a reality. Kevin has in the past revealed he wanted to repackage all the great Criterion stuff that already existed along with new stuff on top of that.

I was about to order 400 Blows from Amazon but the price went up today (figures). $24.99 isn't a bad price, but it was $21.99 yesterday.

Maybe Target has been carrying these for some time, but its news to me.
How much does Target sell their criterions for?

Criterion usually updates their new releases once a month only so it will be a couple more weeks more than likely.

I am hoping Contempt is in their next batch, but hopefully they will do a lot more releases in the next months announcements since according to the interview posted in a prev post their BDs were selling very well so they want to get more out. I am fine with that.

I can't wait till the day when each title announced on DVD from them also gets the BD release same time.

There are so many upcoming standard DVDs that I want, and seems like no chance of a BD release so soon, like Wise Blood, or The Hit.

I hope that The Seven Samurai is in the next batch. That is the crown jewel of the entire collection if you ask me. We need a Fellini in there as well....maybe 8 1/2, La Strada or Nights of Cabria?

Default Cases and Artwork

I Know im coming in kinda late, but are all the cases from now on gonna be like Wages of Fear?

Man I Like the new case but i wish all had been like that, or at least close to it, i just like the way all mine look now next to each other in numerical order and identical as far as cases, either way ill buy anything Criterion puts out.

The Ben But cases looks like the previous releases

From what all I heard going forward they are using the new plastic style case. I am happy with it for sure

You cant tell from that cover! It looks like a slip sleeve! I can see them going with the clear (like they used on Wages of Fear) and that outside cover is just a slip sleeve.

I am sure the case will more than likely be like Wages of Fear but no slip sleeve. I don't think they've ever done a slip sleeve. I would guess they are using the image and pics based on the actual paper being used as the art insert (rounded edges for spine etc - seen this on other DVD and BD releases where all you see is the insrt art but not the case)

Criterion does the same on standard DVD releases they never show the case borders.

but then again you never know how far long in the process the release was on each release to know what kind of case.

I would suggest someone e-mail them and just ask Wages of Fear onward includ. Benj B. will the cases be the new plastic case?
