The hardest part is maintaining the weight and keep it down.

I'm about 6 weeks in now and have lost almost 30 lbs! Hopefully I'll keep at this rate for a little longer. I'm just waiting for that damn wall....

Been hitting the gym for little over a month now (5 days a week) since I quit 6 months ago. Dropped 5 lbs. so far. My routine is usually 30 minutes of cardio followed by light resistance training and some basketball.. but it varies a lot as I usually change it up to keep me entertained. Eating right is the thing that gets me, I've cheated every weekend so far. Do'h!

I'm 6' and 245 lbs. Trying to get to 200-220 before Summer.
I weighed 300 pound. talk about being overweight. all it took was just discipline and started running and working out. The first two weeks no sodas, no juice, and only had at least 8 cups of water a day. Ate only Salads for lunch and dinner, breakfast I had cereal of course . And started bicycling for 30 hour a day everyday. Then running started after the first two weeks and lifting weights began. Soon after that I changed my meal plans to eating whatever as long as i continue to exercise, and kept the sodas and juices away for that period of time until i got to the weight I was targeting. I am 6' and should weigh between 195-200 pounds.

Now I weigh 195 and I do exercise regularly.

Discipline is all it takes.

Try the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. It will kick you in the a$$. I'm in the middle of it right now ans I can tell you the first week I was in some serious pain. I was using muscles I did not know I had.

So I am resurrecting this thread because I am going to try and lose weight again and this time keep it off. Last time I tried was last year and I did good for a while and lost 20 lbs then stopped and gained it back

I was able to lose it through exercise so that's what I'm gonna do again. I'll adjust my diet a bit too.

I was doing P90X last time but this time I'm gonna go for Insanity.

I'll keep track of my progress here. First workout is tomorrow!!

haha..I hear ya, Mikejet...I started up P90 last week but then quit. It's hard to keep the routine going. I'll check back when I'm better motivated...:...I made it to 70 days and then I took a vacation and Miami and ya..that was the end of P90x summer session.

Sounds good! Im starting a light workout tomorrow. Ive lost 30+ pounds since September '09 by just changing what I eat. I hit a barrier though in early December and its looking like I have to put a little more effort into the weight loss now

Stats before I started losing:

6'1"
253lbs

Now I'm still 6'1" (imagine that ) but ranging between 215lbs and 220lbs.

Ill try to keep posting my progress here. Hoping it will help me if I feel like I have someone to report to.

Calories boys and girls all it comes down to, in the giant world of fab diets and all the junk food exc.

Its really as simple as that, if you monitor that and do nothing else you'd be golden, add exercise and you'd probably do even better.

Calorie controlled portions aren't, but you are so right. Almost every restaurant gives you more portions then you need.

LOL, I'm 5'4" as well! But I weigh around 160 and have been doing P90X for the last 3 weeks. I'm mainly looking to Tone up. I think for our height, the appropriate weight is 150 or below, but I'm comfortable with being between 150 and 160 as long as I'm tone.

The thing about P90X is finding the time to do it. Cause most of the excercises take at LEAST 1 hour....1 hour and 15 minutes if you count the days that you have to do Ab Ripper X. Its not easy, but its worth it. Speaking of that I missed my excercise today, I normally do it early in the morning, but I was tired...not to mention working 8 hours a day

I started working out (damn video games and movies had me at 230 ) in mid-November and I'm down to 190 by not eating any greasy food or fast food (same thing I guess). Working out at the gym a few times a week and regular cardio is another plus. I've hit the 'wall' though as I've only lost 5 lbs. in the last two weeks. It's great though as I feel energetic and fresh everyday now.

The Insanity workouts are about 40 minutes. They are crazy though. You do a series of workouts, then short break, then do them again faster, then a short break, then one more time even faster. Each workout keeps you at your max level of performance.

Are these Insanity workouts later in the coming weeks? I've just begun week 3 today!

Hey Mike! I had finished P90X in December and was in pretty good shape. I went to my folks' house for Christmas and took a 3 week break and all the weight that I had lost doing P90X came back. Too much time laying around drinking soda at home I guess. I started Insanity on the 1st of Jan. It is BRUTAL, but AWESOME at the same time. I've lost an inch around my waist, but I've actually gained about 5 pounds. I really really like the routines. I like the length of them. The 2nd month they are closer to an hour tho. Good luck again. I've been following the eating guide fairly closely. I think I may have finally found something that works really well! After Insanity I plan on either doing P90X+ or a P90/Insanity hybrid program. One thing I learned after going home and putting that weight back on is that fitness is a life style, not something you do for 60 of 90 days.
