I don't see True Lies, Abyss, or Aliens on Target or Walmart website.

It's kind of strange.

My Amazon orders slipped a bit but only a few days for now. Abyss scheduled for Thursday. I may try to go to town to see if any retailers have any of these.

Amazon works in strange ways, ... how can I order far in advance and until last night they say I will have it today when in fact they have no idea.

Oh well.... they have been better but there's still some work to do. Until it is shipped the delivery estimate means nothing.

As I said earlier, the sound design in THE ZONE OF INTEREST plays a prominent role - so glad to see that it was recognized last night with an OSCAR which should guarantee a UHD release..
Yes it was and that was the most satisfying win. I saw it at the BFI IMAX which is the most "unIMAX" film but I'm glad to see films like that getting that kind of release. It made great use of their sound system.

I sure hope this movie comes with a working digital copy code.

I know I love the movie but I really want to share it with my family also.

Currently on sale ($9.99) too which is nice. (Also makes me think the code is expired.)

Bonus -> If this is announced for UHD BD tomorrow you know who to thank.

The digital code worked with my copy, but I don't remember when I redeemed it. I bought the blu-ray in January 2019.

Thanks !

The packaging says may expire after 2020. I see HD Movie Codes still sells the Vudu code..... which gives me a little hope.

Anyway, the disc is on the way.... I have to remember I don't care about the online version but it is fun to share movies with my kids who aren't home.

I will report back on if it works .... Amazon says I get it tomorrow which is impressive if true as I just ordered it.

Also $9.99 in iTunes 4K for those who do Apple stuff. I have never heard about this movie until recent chatter and I want to see it now.

Whenever people stop buying it online it will come to DVD and then Blu and then UHD BD...... I am almost sure.

Yes I did. However, I am not one that gets bent because I have to wait a few days for a title. As noted in another post I put True Lies in my Amazon “Blu-ray Coming” list on February 1, 2011, added The Abyss on May 22, 2012. Just glad we finally have them available for real.

It also proves a very important point, make a highly desirable title available on Blu-ray or UHD Blu-ray and it will sell by the boat load (southern for many).

The natural order of things is to buy a movie on a less desired format and only then will your preferred format become available. Adding insult to injury, your preferred format will usually include the lesser format that you already bought.

I was in the same boat but my order with True Lies, The Abyss and Aliens just charged and shipped today. Better late than never, but as you said for $11.98 each I can wait a few days.

I got this right when it came out (9/1/2018 according to my collection info) and the digital code worked fine then. But I know at least WB has started cracking down on the expiration dates.

Four fine additions to my collection just arrived:

I am especially happy to have The Shootist on blu-ray. It is among my favorite westerns with an incomparable cast including John Wayne (his last film appearance), James Stewart, and Lauren Bacall. The Arrow edition includes a booklet, small poster and five lobby cards.

Vudu is now Fandango At Home. You can use the code FAH10 to get 10% off any digital rental or purchase and it is good until March 26th. It includes a caveat that reads:

"There is a limited quantity of Code redemptions allowed in this promotion. While supplies last."

A guess on my part, these titles sold out early and most vendors that got any disc fulfilled the earliest preorders first. Amazon was saying The Abyss was a top seller weeks ago. I suspect it will be a month or more before I receive mine.

No matter, have plenty to watch till then. Next up, Oppenheimer then Leviathan in UHD via GameFly disc by mail. Just finished Needful Things.

Does anyone have an opinion about Nicolas Cage's recent western Butcher's Crossing? It's on sale for just $5 at Fandango At Home (Vudu) for UHD.

Saw that recently. Will have to see how the app looks on the Shield, ATV4K and Roku.

Under Manage Devices they say I have 31 devices activated . Need to see if any are old devices not used anymore.

Watched the trailer for it sometime back. GameFly does not have it so it moved to limbo.

$2.99 to rent or $5.00 to own, let me think, just purchased.

It’s dead over here it seems. I don’t know a single person who collects digital films, everyone only seems to talk about Netflix and Disney+.

Some of the older (but not old) people I know have Sky tv (as do I) but even they have Netflix and Disney/Prime video.
