How did this discussion even start? Why is everyone so obsessed with that apartment? It's clean and clutter free, better than any place I've ever lived.
Wait, you couldn’t afford the “price hike” on the VS titles, but haven’t heard you say a word about the pricing on SOAWN. Which is more expensive pos than any VS title...

My post was tongue-in-cheek, of course.

Here’s my own priority list when it comes to my money...

1. Family
2. Health and fitness
3. Career
4. Home
5. Vehicle
6. Entertainment (Blu-rays, etc.)

I cannot spend money on the sixth tier until the higher tiers are taken care of first.

Of course, the “family” tier is easier when one is single.

Come on, Owl, any sensible person knows that a spending priority list should be...

Once the hype machine pedals all the LE SOAWN, you think they'll announce a standard edition release? Or will they wait for their fleabay proxies to sell through first (before announcing)?

Bill has medical bills to pay; money doesn't glow on trees, you know.

There's nothing "LE" about this release except the way they're trying to sell it. No slipcover, no fancy packaging, no booklet, no bonus disc(s), etc. - not that those are needed, but those are what normally distinguish a limited edition. To make a "standard" edition that was missing something that the current version has, they'd have to actually remove disc content, which would involve the expense of authoring a new disc.

And the whole thing is ludicrous anyway. No Code Red discs ever seem to truly sell out - even ones 'out of print' for rights expiration reasons like The Police Connection keep showing up with a few extra copies every now and then. Bill himself constantly complains about how nothing sells out. I don't know what the truth re: Bill's health is so I'm not going to comment on that at all - if he's sick, I wish him the best, and I'll leave it at that. But the Dark Force guy is clearly running the show at this point, has access to the stock, and is playing games.

It was a joke. Sorry that you didn't get it. As you said, this is all ludicrous marketing.

You are correct. As no CR title is ever OOP or limited (LE), they wouldn't have to do anything to call the reprint release a "standard" edition.

Maybe change the cover if they were afraid of criticism from their fleabay sellers. Hopefully, no one is buying this because it is limited.

With Code Red, standard editions usually mean discs that are distributed to retail outlets by Kino Lorber, with slightly different artwork and often a lower price. I think sometimes extras and/or alternate cuts are removed for the SE.

Good point. I was just poking the Demon.
I just can't imagine them walking away from printing more money.

There was some talk about "encore" releases and how it impacted Twilight Time's sales.
I'm sure there are a few here who bought it because it was limited. I'm guessing the greatest disappointment would be from the fleabayers.
But then I don't care if they make 300 copies for their label fans or 10,000 for Amazon.

EDIT: OK, I'm bored - sitting here clicking refresh. I know it shows.

It's less about printing money with this one release and more about making a business that consistently prints money with good selling limited releases IMO

Like the Mondo Tees limited poster model, their posters now sell out in seconds because people are conditioned to know that if they don't buy immediately at full price they will never get a chance to buy it at a normal price. They could make tons of cash doing a new run of some of their more popular posters but they don't want to damage their long term business for short term gain.

I think the twilight time repressings both by twilight time and Sony was very damaging to the price they were able to sell the titles. Twilight time publicly said as much, as for many people it took away from the limited aspect of the title. The other issue is TT presses too many copies for a lot of their movies and ends up having to sell the overstock at cut rate prices, though this may be a compromise they have to make due to their licensing deal.

When it first launched the full price value was retained and they sold fairly quickly because people felt they might never get another chance if they don't buy before it sells out. But once the repressings happened and sales happened because too many copies were pressed many people stopped buying at 29.99 and started waiting for the inevitable 14.99 sale. Prior to that people would say "I'm not paying 29.99" on a forum but then secretly ended up paying 29.99 anyway for fear of missing out. Not anymore.

It's actually a 2 million dollar penthouse condo in West Hollywood with a view all the way to downtown Los Angeles. The generic Best Buy TV you refer too is a 10,000.00 OLED LG best flat screen on the market and there is nothing cheap or tacky in the place. Genius.

1) You've got a prime Skid Row viewing spot then. My bad.
2) If I spent ten grand on a TV it would need to be bigger than 55"
3) That chair Bill likes to slump in doesn't look too comfortable. Definitely looks cheap

So..........what happened?

How did you get from living the Ric Flair gimmick to filming a questionably unstable gentleman in a banana costume in your living room with your phone?
