Many people belevie audio CD’s sound better then LP records and that is one of the reasons the 1982 audio CD format started outselling LP records in 1987. Also there are hundreds of millions of optical disc DVD-ROM and BD-ROM drives in computers and videogame systems that can play a audio CD. But according to this article in 2023 more consumers are buying LP records which requires a used or new LP record player. Now I know that some audiophiles claim that LP records sound better then audio CD’s, however that is the reasons why the Super Audio CD format, DVD Audio format, and Blu-ray Audio format was released since all three of those formats have better sound quality then LP records. The Blu-ray Audio format has the absolute best sound quality and Blu-ray Audio discs are 100% compatible with all standalone Blu-ray players and computer BD-ROM drives (even first-generation year 2006 Blu-ray players play Blu-ray Audio discs).

The BDA is missing out on a big opportunity and should be marketing Blu-ray Audio to audiophiles. Blu-ray Audio discs is much better than LP records, and a entry level Blu-ray player costs around $50.
