I couldn't care less about the discs, they will end up being sold for a couple bucks. I'm in it for the packaging! It will hold my trilogy quite nicely, all 6 discs(thanks you AmazonUK), until the Ultimate trilogy is announced....then I may have to revisit.

Gosh, it's killing me not knowing what is going to be in that Ultimate trilogy set!!! I hope it contains substantial new material otherwise what a waste of money.

It will be interesting to find out, that's for sure!
First & foremost, I'm hoping for new transfers, for at least, the first two films. Then a close second would be extensive special features.

This is why I'm getting the dvd trilogy now, and making my own BD trilogy set(since I can't stand the current BD packaging). If WB just recycles the discs, and plops a couple new docs on the new set, that won't cut it with me.
Now if they pull out all the stops, and it shows, I'll have no problem picking it up.
Only time will tell!

If the Ultimate set is just fluff, then i'll stick with the current Trilogy set. Warner loves tacking on exclusives discs with new content though, so we'll see...

More like a digibook/steelbook/UCE fanatic. I like slipcovers, but don't go out of my way to get them. I like slips back in the dvd days too!

The dvd case is too damn good to pass up! How this didn't come with the BD set is beyond me. So I've taken steps to amend that.
Which is why, in the day & age, it's always a good thing to have multiple purchasing options. I can't stress that enough!

Posted this in another thread, but here goes:

For anyone thinking about getting the trilogy, amazon currently has a Facebook "share and claim" promo for $5 off a $25 purchase. That would bring the trilogy price down to $22.96, which is truly a steal.

Agreed. I'm kind of dissapointed with how soft the 35mm looks. The IMAX footage is outstanding though. If only the entire film could be shot that way...

I also would want the theatrical aspect ratios in HD for TDK and TDKR. They do that plus new transfers, I'm in. The extras would be gravy.

It does look huge, doesn't it? I've got to go back down to a store and check the size. If it's bigger, they wouldn't make the book bigger, right?

You know there's not going to be new transfers this soon. You know this. It's just not gonna happen. Get your mind set for that so you won't be disappointed (and then, if it happens - miracle of miracles - you'd be so-o happy!).

I am thinking they might add DTS MA for begins and dark knight rather then new transfers.

I am getting the USA version of The Dark Knight Rises next Monday (i live in Canada) and have no use for the Ultraviolet copy that comes with it, cause it can't be used in Canada. Does anyone know if you need to put the disc in the computer to transfer it or can you just go to the site, cause if you don't need to put a disc in I will trade it for a DMR code, let me know

The UV code is a cloud service. No disc is needed (Only digital copies need an extra disc).
All you need to do is email the code and they need a UV account.

What? No. His voice was way louder than everyone else's dialogue.

I don't remember his voice being that loud in the theater so I think there was some more audio tinkering. With that said, ever since it was changed for better following the Prologue debacle, there's just something...hypnotic about Bane's voice.

Re: DVD Trilogy Case

I agree it looks better. I wouldn't be surprised if some posters on here put their Blu-Rays in the superior box!

I don't mind plot holes as long as they don't intrude upon your suspension of disbelief. After all, this is a movie about a man who wears bat ears. My problem is that all the dialog scenes in TDKR are horribly dull and that's hard to ignore.
So true. Most great films throughout history probably have some plot holes. I think plot holes in a film are irrelevant IF THEY WORK so to speak. In TDK there's the scene where Batman jumps out the window after Rachael, leaving a whole room full of people w/ the Joker and his cronies. Did the Joker murder them, leave them, or what? I've watched that film so many times, and I didn't even NOTICE it until someone pointed it out to me. Why not? Because it works, that's why. The only movie of critical acclaim that I can remember that really went out of it's way to avoid that is The Sixth Sense. If the plot holes work why let that sour an otherwise solid film(except those who really didn't care for the film in the 1st place)?

Does anyone know if you can trade in the UV code for a iTunes digital copy. I hate UV.

Got the Dark Knight Rises Steelbook in the mail today it had a rough feeling instead of being all slick & glossy was it meant to be that way or did they forget to put a protective coating of lacquer or whatever over them to make feel smoother & look sleeker?
