I posted quite a bit this weekend, and I didn't really say anything substantive for all the quantity, but it did make me feel like I was my old self again blathering away about any fool thing that popped into my head.

Now it's back to it with another busy week ahead. I have six appointments this week, all in St. Louis, over three days.

[Show spoiler]I head out Tuesday to see my ophthalmologist. He will be checking to see if my disease has reached my eyes. He checks my eyes every six months. So far, this disease has spared my vision and I hope that it stays that way.

I will be staying overnight in St. Louis and on Wednesday I will be having my second nerve conduction study (NCS) and electromyography (EMG) test; the EMG portion was quite painful for me the first time that I had it done. I am not looking forward to going through it again.

"NCS is a measurement of the amount and speed of conduction of an electrical impulse through a nerve. NCS can determine nerve damage and destruction, and is often performed at the same time as EMG."

"EMG measures muscle response or electrical activity in response to a nerve’s stimulation of the muscle. The test is used to help detect neuromuscular abnormalities. During the test, one or more small needles (also called electrodes) are inserted through the skin into the muscle."

Most people find this test to be of minor discomfort, but I have proven to not be "most people." These tests will be done on both of my legs and on my lower back; it takes up to 90 minutes to complete.

After this, I will have my NT-ProBNP levels measured in a blood test. This test is a measure of how well the heart pumps blood; the higher the number the worse job it is doing. A normal result is under 300 pg/ml; historically my results vary between 1,163-3,068 pg/ml.

Wrapping up Wednesday will be an appointment with my main cardiologist. (I have 4 total).

I get Thursday off from the medical merry-go-round, but then I return Friday to see my urologist. He wants to discuss a treatment that I don't want to have done.

At almost six months into the year this puts me at 36 appointments, tests, and procedures ordered by my 11 doctors. Last year, I had 76. I was hoping the pace would slow down some this year, but it hasn't by very much. I never knew that it was possible to be this tired.

That’s a full slate for sure. All the very best and here is to desired outcomes and some well earned rest at the end of the week.

Glad to see the old Vilya last week for sure. I hope this week goes well and does not bring with it much pain as you get poked and prodded. Keeping my fingers crossed for a lower number as well on the one test.

The exact number of ECUs can vary depending on the make and model of the vehicle. However, in a typical modern car, you can expect to find anywhere from 50 to over 100 ECUs. Each ECU is dedicated to a specific task or subsystem, such as engine control, transmission management, safety systems, infotainment, and more."

It's nice to step away from computers even just a little bit. It's not like I'm hooked on my phone because I don't use my phone for much other than TXT.

If you think that's bad - now they're putting technology into cars that phones home to LexisNexis and that information gets sold to your insurance company and the government. The insurance looks at that, and bases rates upon how you drive. No permission of course is explicitly given to them to do this. I don't like it and it's too bad our elected representatives don't make it illegal. My car is a 2016, before Toyota started doing this. But if I buy a new car, I'm looking up ways as to how to block or tear out this stuff entirely. I've called my representatives (Tammy Baldwin and Ron Johnson) to make this illegal.

I've been watching Amazon Prime, Netflix, and AppleTV where there's a New Series with Jake Gyllenhaal Presumed Innocent. It's a Court Drama based on a Novel made into a 1990 Movie staring Harrison Ford. Vary good I watched the first two Episodes...Time to watch something besides your Discs!

I do, on a frequent basic. But it ain’t the same as movie night with a Blu or UHD.

Why do you make ridiculous comments like this when at least most (if not all) of us have made it more than clear on numerous occasions that while we do collect and watch discs a lot, we do not watch them exclusively?

Most of us are signed up for at least one or a few streaming services, watch some kind of regular TV, and so on. What part of this do you not comprehend?

I started watching Star Trek Discovery Final Season on P+. It's in 4K DV/5.1. I also pre-ordered the BD set, which releases in August.

Am I the only one here who doesn't have a streaming subscription ?
I do rent digital though, but I refuse to pay for movies on a monthly basis especially if they decide what I can and cannot see.
In all honesty, if videostores were still around, I'd still rent from them.

No you're not the only one. I don't subscribe either, but that's obviously down to personal choice like yourself.

I agree with you about videostores. I do miss them. My local grocery store used to rent out DVD's way back when the format was launched and I did rent titles from them from time to time, but sadly those days are gone.

Yeah, videostores. Just walking around in them and browsing the new titles.
And all the regular faces in there trying to find the same thing. That new hidden gem.
Giving tips or getting them from someone else. An experience the new generation will never have.

Absolutely right, couldn't have put it better myself.

With me liking horror films, I still recall back in the 80's looking at horror titles of which many I was unfamiliar with, but if the image on the cover looked interesting, I'd be tempted to rent it - probably the rental equivalent of a blind-buy.

The videostore I used when I lived in the city was huge, and honestly, I could have spent all day in there.

All of my movies, TV shows, music, and video games are on physical media. I don't stream anything and the only thing I ever download is software (just tools, not art).

I mostly watch series on Netflix, Sky (they have Warner annd HBO shows here) U.K. streamers like BBC IPlayer, ITV X, C4 and Apple TV unless it’s an exclusive film which won’t get a disc release. I find Apple TV (box) to be the closest to Blu-ray and UHD with the streaming quality.

We are getting Tubi next month, I hear that one mentioned a lot in the USA.
Discs always have been and always will be my priority.

I was never happier as a kid than when I was browsing the video store. Studying the cover and back of the latest films (horrors especially). I was a film and gaming obsessive even then.

VHS was magical to me, remember getting our first player. It was a top loading tank!
