Does anyone have templates for Disney Blu-ray-style Blu-ray+DVD and Disney DVD-style DVD+Blu-ray coverarts (like on the initial Blu-ray issues of the first two Toy Story movies) as well as Studio Ghibli-style Blu-ray coverart (like on the Blu-ray release of Ponyo)?

I searched the whole place, and they didn't have what I was looking for (specifically, the Disney Blu-ray logo, the current Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment logo, Blu-ray region codes, the Cinergi logo, the high-quality THX logo, high-quality MPAA ratings, high-quality DTS logos, high-quality Dolby logos, high-quality copy protection logos, the Disney BD Live logo, and high-quality DVD logos). Where can I find those?

This was my first time really doing something like this. But it's BTTF... so I was motivated!

I wasn't happy with the print quality when printing straight onto card stock. I then picked up some glossy photo paper, and my first attempt making a box out of it went okay, but the print was too easily smudged.

But today I finally made what I believe will be my final box for this set.

I actually had this spray can of glossy acrylic sealer that I got a while back for something else entirely. I made new prints on the glossy paper, let them dry for a bit, then I sprayed this stuff over them (the description said it works well for photos, so I figured what the heck).

As I cut out the pieces (I made tabs, etc, for where they would fold over and connect to be glued) and began to assemble them, I also cut out pieces of card stock paper that I glued (using krazy glue) to the inside of the box for extra support.

This final box still has a few imperfections, but it's the most "professional" looking out of all of my attempts. There are a few very minor bumps, etc, here and there, but nothing major.

The only thing that really irks me is that I got this that I got this weird imperfection/smudge mark from the top accidentally coming into contact with some stray crazy glue that was on the cardboard that I was assembling everything on. But I'm not going to attempt to make this again just because of that. This one turned out so good overall that I don't think I could do it again.

I have some pics below. The colors seems to come across as being more dull and less vibrant in the pics than they are in person, but I think that is due at least in part to the light reflecting on the coating that I put over the box.

But without further ado, here are the pics....

Wow, that looks amazing. That could've been official, but instead Universal had to go with a crappy case containing all three discs.

Could someone please make a custom cover for VALKYRIE where instead of the idiotic Digital Copy shite there could be a blurb about it containing the film soundtrack? I already disc shredded the Digital Copy and paper shredded the code. Not sorry to the "advocates" for Digital Copy.
Guess this applies for all titles bearing the worthless Digital Copy blurb?

dv8pdx

I could really use the individual Planet of the Apes covers since I moved my complete set to separate cases. However, when I tried to download them from the earlier post they were no longer available. Can I still get them some how. Thanks.

Hi everyone,

great work on here, I'm wondering if there are customs of 13 ghosts and house of wax available? I cannot stand having movie double packs.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just ordered the UK Alien Anthology. Realizing I might get tired of unfolding that super-long digibook , I'm working on 2 custom 3-BD cases:

Looks nice but why not make a triptych for the posters?
Like I mentioned in another thread... Was going to find a good custom cover set but nixed it since I'll be getting the UK regular release. Looks very nice though! How about custom Blu-ray covers for the individual 2009 DVD releases? All you'd need to do is update the backs with the current extra feature specs, the current Blu-ray bar thing for video/audio/etc., Blu-ray logos instead of DVD and zero mention of Digital Copy. Could have the UPC be the different license plates for the DeLoreans per each film/Part.

As for the cover/triptych...hadn't thought of it. I might give it a try, but I'm not sanguine about how it would turn out; these aren't posters that really lend themselves well to being spliced into thirds, as I did with my Vacation Trilogy set (there's too much repetition among the posters), but I may give it a try.

For my money, though, this image of Marty and the DeLorean works equally well for all three of the movies, and is pretty iconic to boot.

Mostly, I'm just not quite happy with the back, so I'll probably do a bit more tweaking there.
Perhaps make it more clustered together with wiring/rust and a more retro 1980's feel instead of ultra high tech? If I had the know how I'd be belting out alot of custom covers all the time.
What about something for the reverse of the cover so there'd be something to look at when you open the 3-Disc Viva Elite? Glad you junk Digital Copies also.
That's another thing which has been bugging me about non-Sony BD releases. The case is transparent but alot of the times zero printing for random film related things for the back covers. Don't even get me going about the Eco-Box crap.

Those turned out nice! I still think the titles need more of a red-to-yellow look (rather than what seems to be varying shades of orange), but that's just my personal preference.

Great job overall, though!

Unless I am mistaken, it looks like both you and dv8pdx must have started out with hi-res "raw" images of the poster art with no writing on them what-so-ever and then added the titles yourselves to where you wanted them to be placed.

I've been doing all kinds of internet searches and for the life of me I cannot find just the art from the posters without the titles or any writing (let alone hi-res versions). Can either of you send me those raw files? Even though I'm pretty much set with the ones that I've printed and am using for my discs, I'd like to try my hand at making some covers as well.

That turned out pretty cool as well. I may, for the heck of it, try making a design for two for a single case to hold all 3 movies. Even if I don't use them, being that I am a big BTTF fan, I will enjoy trying to make some cases for them. Plus I have a few ideas floating around in my head for this sort of case (a couple of which are fairly simple, but one of which is a big more ambitious and complicated).

And I may even end up using one when all is said and done, but I'm not sure yet. I'm actually going to be buying the US release of the Blu-Ray set later today, and I also have the UK limited edition tin coming as well. I also have some 3-disc Elite cases coming that I bought on ebay.

My plan for my main set (the one with the slip-box and 3 separate cases) has been to make my own custom combo packs out of the 3 movies, but I've been debating on the configuration. Both configurations will include the US Blu-Rays and one set of the original DVD releases (my wife and I actually have a few copies of the Trilogy on DVD... it's insane).

The part that I am debating on is to either also include the Digial Copies (which I don't really care about digital copies, but since I have them, I figured I may as well include them), or to possibly just put the UK Blu-Rays in the same set instead (in which case I'll just keep the Digital copies in the original packaging off to the side).

If I put the Digital Copies in the slip-box set with the 3 separate cases, then I may just make a single 3-disc "Trilogy" case for the UK versions.

Those are sweet! Do you think you could combine them for a single 6 disc case?

Sure, just need to edit the back copy a bit. (I haven't seen the insert/booklet yet, but I'm hoping it will include most of that info.)

What is the spine size for your 6-disc case - 22 mm?
