I'd forgotten all about that. Ya, thee Big 12 dropped their conf title game this season since they fell below 12 members.

In the Pac-12 the two best teams are both in the North division - Stanford and Oregon. I'm sure the winner of their game in the regular decision will end up winning the conference championship game. The Pac-12 South leader is Arizona St.

Randy Edsall, Maryland. Boy, it sure is a good thing the Terrapins brass squeezed out Ralph Friedgen after last year’s 9-4 season. If they hadn’t, they wouldn’t be privy to this year’s 2-6 pratfall in year one under Edsall. Maryland has lost four in a row, most recently a listless 28-17 defeat at home to Boston College. That’s the most points the punchless Eagles have scored in an ACC game since the middle of the 2009 season.

Big East set to invite Boise State, Navy, and Air Force for football only, while UCF (), SMU, and Houston will get the invite for all sports. If they get all of these teams, there will be a West and East division with a championship game. Having Boise and a championship game might save the Big East's automatic bid.

What ever happened to him? It almost seems like he disappeared since he retired from the game. I can't recall seeing him involved in anything related to the NFL since he retired. Only thing I did hear was that his son was born with some rare disease and died very young some years later, so I'd imagine that had a major effect on his family.

He remains in Buffalo and has very close ties to the team. He tailgates with the fans during home games. He's also currently trying to get the proper investors together to make a bid for the team after Ralph Wilson, Jr. passes away. I really hope he can pull that off, Jim Kelly would be a very passionate owner for the Buffalo Bills. I'll never forget his Hall of Fame speech that brought most Bills fans to their knees with emotion:

Well here's my pick for the de-facto national title game this Saturday. Alabama is a 4.5 point favorite.

Alabama - 24
LSU - 16

I think home field advantage will give Alabama the edge here. Outside of that game and Arkansas-South Carolina there just aren't any other high quality match ups this week.

You mean another team outside of South Carolina or Arkansas? Neither of those teams has a realistic chance of making the national title game. It's going to take an undefeated record to make the title game this season. Even after this weekend we'll still have one SEC team, Stanford, Oklahoma St. and Boise St. undefeated. I'm sure at least two from that group will run the table, and my guess is if only Boise and one other team finish undefeated the voters will put Boise in the title game in spite of their schedule.

The last 5 years a non-SEC team has had it's shot in the national title game vs. an SEC team. And every one of those seasons the SEC won. Probably the same story this season.
