Anyone have any idea if the Target edition will become available again? They all seem to be sold out in my area and aren't showing up online. I wasn't able to drop by until 8pm on release day so if they don't get more in, I have no problem getting the normal version. Thanks folks, as always.

I really hope these "Uber Editions" that they've been talking about deliver some beefier extras.

There's so many releases lately with feature length documentaries. Would love to see that occur here.

So Beast, did you like TDKR, and have you grown to appreciate TDK? Just curious.

Even if you accept the absurdity of the "magic knee brace", why wait 8 years to use it? Regardless of whether or not he ever expected to don the cowl again, why intentionally leave yourself needing a cane for that long?

I made the initial comment on shifting aspect ratios....I haven't taken anyone else' comments as a personal attack!

But when you are sitting in front of a 60 inch plasma and 20%of the image disappears, it IS distracting! Not in a way that means its pulled me out of the movie, just in the fact that later, when you sit back and think....wow, this film made 3 billion dollars or whatever....I KNOW the IMAX camera is more expensive, and causes more work and noise to filter out.....but you CAN afford to use a consistant look thru the film if you are going to make $3 billion!

Yes I know that $3 billion isn't a given, but surely they had o have believed they were going to be clearing a profit here!

Just seems to have been made on the cheap ( I KNOW that's over the top, too!)

I don't recall LOTR doing this....will go back and look though!

Bestbuy steel book has over 3 hours of video! The "Reborn" is only a portion of it

As I said earlier in the thread... I really enjoyed The Dark Knight Rises. I'm as shocked as the rest of you.

I think it's actually my favorite of the three films. With Batman Begins a very close second.

I was actually surprised how much I enjoyed this one. Especially since I've been critical of the other Nolan Batman films. I think it comes down to a couple things that actually worked for me. This was really the most "Comic Bookish" movie in the trilogy. And the adaption of Bane was certainly better handled than Batman & Robin's lumbering brainless goon. So I give the movie huge props for handling the character so well. Plus we got away from the whole Batman versus Gangsters thing that made it feel less like a Batman Comic Book movie and more like a Crime Drama w/ just some guy dressed like Batman.

Are there parts of the film that bug me a bit? Sure.
[Show spoiler]Such as the Talia reveal coming right the hell out of nowhere. And how many times they restate that The Bat's Autopilot doesn't work. Even though we find out at the end it's been fixed for 6 months. Plus how dickish Bruce is to make Alfred tearfully mourn for him, only to find out he faked his death.
But every movie has those kind of moments. And in the end they didn't take me out of the film enough to dislike it.

Cool thanks for the feedback. I agree...Bane was awesome in this. He held my attention as much as Joker.

Best Buy started using a little care when shipping easily damanged items? When did this happen?

I'll accept him living as a recluse for 8 years(although even that seemed far-fetched). But deliberately refusing to fix a busted leg?

They probably had a lot of returns for steel books being dented in the past, so I assume they learned their lesson. Before I received it, I figured I'd probably be going to Best Buy on the release day to switch out a dented steel book. Fortunately, that wasn't the case.

For those who may be worried about the UV copy showing up on Vudu, it has. At least it;s there for me. Just give it a while. It's also HDX.

Now, if iTunes can match that level of quality with digital copies, then perhaps wanting that copy included is fine. The problem is that iTunes is limited and if you don't have Apple TV, you aren't getting it on your HDTV.

Why not? The guy kind of gave up on life after losing what he thought was his only chance at happiness. When people get depressed they ignore their health quite often, overeating, not going to doctors, not treating simple illnesses, living in filth or even starving themselves.

He didn't need his leg healed to mope around his room. Besides Batman fought through his back being broken, I am pretty sure having a busted leg is barely a discomfort for him. If anything he probably thought of it as a punishment for not being there for her.

Not one time have I thought about it during my blu-ray experiences. he was a little nerd seeking attention. I don't even want to give him a thought. Very sorry for the victims but that incident doesn't invade my watching experience.

But you have a 60" display. It's not the most humongous size. But the black bars shouldn't be distracting on a TV that size. At least they weren't to me on my TV.

Then again, black bars weren't distracting on my 40" TV either.

The issue was not cost. The issue was that Nolan refuses to do ADR on a quiet dialogue scene because he doesn't feel the performance can be recaptured after the fact in a studio. And he's absolutely right IMHO. In the special features, they straight up said this is the reason they didn't use it for the entire film. They didn't want the noise from the camera to drown out the actors' voices in dialogue scenes (causing them to do ADR later) and they also didn't want the noisy camera to distract the actors while they did their jobs in those particular scenes.
