Which were partly covered on the regular BDs, but are still missing some, mostly interactive, content & games:

Year 1: Interactive Tour, Sorting Hat, Library & Diagon Alley, Classrooms, Hogwarts Grounds
Year 2: Tour Dumbledore's Office, Gallery of Production Sketches & Game Preview, Activities: The Chamber Challenge + The Forbidden Forest Challenge + Colin's Darkroom + Tour Diagon Alley, Spellcaster Knowledge
Year 3: Tour Lupin's Classroom, Tour Honeydukes & Magic You May Have Missed, Catch Scabbers, Sir Cadogan's Journey
Year 4: Tri-Wizard Tournament: Dragon Challenge + Lake Challenge + Maze Challenge, To the Graveyard and Back Challenge

There are, however, also three small pieces gained, which were on the regular BDs, but not on the UE BDs:

Year 1: Around the World Multi-Language Clip
Year 2: Year One at Hogwarts
Year 5: The Hidden Secrets of Harry Potter

Which was in fact the same mix, just a different codec. Except for the first 2, which were upgraded from LPCM 5.1 to DTS-HD MA 6.1!
On top of that, Years 1, 2, 4 and 5 also had the so called "In-Movie Experience": a very nice PIP commentary track, which is missing from this set.

So some of the discs are actually different compared to the Hogwarts Collection? As they both use cardboard packaging, I almost wish I'd just gone for that, as it's got everything for not a huge amount more money.

Yes, the "Disc 1" for Years 1-6 are the regular BDs instead of the UE BDs.

Cheers for the info. Hmmm, this is annoying. I really thought it would have just been a cut down version of the Hogwarts set, not a mash up. I probably am as well to just upgrade to that one now as I need a replacement for this new one anyway.

That'll do me fine, I wasn't expecting anything more than that (if it was included at all!).

Cheers for the pics and info, jono!!!! Muchas gracias!

I had a sneaky feeling that this would be the case, as basically having the main Hogwarts/Wizards discs in a cheap package like this was too good to be true, but getting the new and improved extras discs and the UV code (careful now! ) would still make this worth picking up seeing as I sold my 11-discer for a tidy amount. Gonna wait and see what Chrimbo brings in terms of reductions though, might even go for the Hogwarts set anyway.

Yeah it's still a good deal as you get 8 new documentaries. By the time I sell off the code, it would prolly only cost about an extra £10 or so though to get the Hogwarts Collection once that code is sold too. I wouldn't mind getting the extended cuts and bonus disc for that much more. I'll see... and to think, I was actually perfectly happy with my old set!

It might be worth seeing if Tesco have a double-points offer in the works, assuming you use a Clubcard and have £15-£20 of points would make the set a nice deal (it's £40 in-store)

Did it drop to about £45, I seem to remember it was something like that?

Can't remember specifically, but it was some crazy price. I ended up picking up two copies in the end - Christmas present for the brother!

Ours just finished a double-points offer a few weeks back. The double-points offer is usually a bit better as they just give you a voucher for twice your points and you can use it on anything in-store. I don't think the Boost works in-store with DVDs or BDs anymore.

I apologize if this is common knowledge, but would this new set be region free (or at least region A also)?

Warner Bros. releases are generally 99.99% region free.

So ignoring packaging, is the Hogwarts set the one to look out for?

You get the extended editions, which are now missing from the new set, the PIP mode which is now missing AND The bonus disc - so everything from the monster set disc-wise but less of the 'souvenirs'?

Is there any disc based content missing from the Hogwarts Set when compared to other releases?

If only it would have an Ultra HD release, I hope they do some nice stand alone editions of these on Ultra HD Blu-ray.
