Both are great movies. Both discs are also on my 4K wishlist.

Bound is a very good thriller that leans a bit towards film noir.

Narc is one of the grittiest movies you'll ever see with one of the best Ray Liotta performances of his career.
The movie wouldn't be out of place between the 70's cop dramas like Serpico or The French Connection.

Our streaming quality is every bit as good as yours, but streaming is not as good as what we get with a 4K disc.

Many of us want to actually own our content, at least for our favorite titles, and we also want that content in the highest possible quality. Even though having the best quality is not important to you, you should at least be able to understand why it is important to many of us.

I have been married to my wife for 25 years, and during that time, I have attempted to explain baseball’s infield fly rule to her just about every time it is called during an at bat. She will inevitably say “That makes no sense” or “That is a stupid rule” after a detailed explanation by yours truly. She has the will to understand but can’t quite grasp the reasoning behind the rule.

For 14 years, I have been a member on this forum, and have witnessed the same attempts by highly intelligent members with hard data to support in order to explain the differences and reasoning behind why so many of us go to great lengths to experience a film or show in the best possible conditions within reason after he washes, rinses, and repeats the same inaccurate claims.

The difference between the two scenarios is my wife has the will to inquire and to understand, whereas the source of the posts simply does not have the will to understand.

Skill vs will.

Narc has a very visceral foot chase that opens the film that uses some shaky cam, but I believe it was made to look like one single shot. It's excellent, but I remember you saying you didn't go for shaky-cam. It's still an awesome film.

Bound is a masterpiece.

Almost off topic but insane story about Disney+ terms and conditions. ...

https://www.theverge.com/2024/8/14/2...cription-terms

"Disney wants a Florida court to dismiss a wrongful death lawsuit at a Disney-affiliated restaurant based on terms of service for the entertainment giant’s website and streaming video services."

So if I read this right and I have to keep double checking because it's nutty as can be. Someone dies from allergic reaction at a restaurant in Disney but said person had a free trail of D+ long ago and at that time the T&C means they agreed to not sue Disney and only deal with Disney preferred resolution.

So for anyone in the camp of the T&C means nothing - take note... it means considerably something.
When I first read about this I thought it must be a joke.

don't know if true but the article that I had read said he had tested D+ some years ago but was not a current subscriber.

I can understand TOS being there for nuisance cases. Don't want to get sued every time content is removed or the service is down, or even when they customer loses his internet connection. But pretending it applies to all aspects of the parent company and for any reason and after the guy quits the service? that boggles my mind.

I am also having increasing difficulty walking; I have a pronounced limp now as my left leg below the knee always goes numb when I walk. It's like dragging a stump.

My neurological exams always include my being hit all over with that little reflex hammer that is usually used on one's knees. This gets done to me twice: first by the Fellow doctor and then by the experienced doctor. They then compare notes, so that the senior doctor can evaluate the less experienced Fellow.

After my neurology appointment, I have my Patisiran infusion treatment. It will be another 6 hours of medical treatments plus 5 hours round trip travel time for an 11 hour ordeal today in total.

On the plus side, if nothing goes awry, I get a 20 day break until my next round of treatments. This will make for my longest break since all of this began back in May of 2021. Additionally, a friend of mine is coming to visit me from California this weekend whom I have not seen in 7 years.
good luck

This gave me my chuckle of the day.. thanks for that!

Just celebrated 25 years in June. The wife pretty much got the in field fly rule in one (her refusal to stand for the American anthem meant that we had stop attending games). She still can't figure out the the thermostat...I guess we all have our blind spots..lol..

To say that my father was not a wise man would be an understatement ... He only ever gave me two half decent pieces of advice...

In his thick southern drawl, he'd say "son... don't you never forget.. that a pat on the back is only twelve inches away from a kick in the ass"

More apropos of this thread was " it takes a bigger fool to argue with a fool"...

I haven't been in this thread as long as most of you... and understand that this discussion is pertinent to the title... but lord have mercy... it was past ridiculous years ago..

I am not sure if it is the challenge involved, or whether we are just masochists, but we keep trying for some reason.

You always lower yourself to name calling just because I prefer Streaming instead of Discs. My Symmetrical testing is below, with the setup I have the Streaming Picture and Sound Quality is very good. Even though WiFi gives me Pixelation on rare occasions!

Your Test History

It is stupid to make such post when a lot of info, data has been posted in this thread and has been explained to you specifically debunking your silly notations about streaming A/V quality. I know that I told you on several occasions there are video aberrations that you may not see that I and others do.

Others have called you out and you never responded. Why was that?

I said early on in this thread many people have an issue with a tech poster like myself because I will call them out when they make a technical claim that is not true.
