Episode VII was in the news today. They held auditions in Bristol and had a turnout of a few thousand, which apparently they didn't expect.

Shame I was at work because I'd have turned up just for the sheer hell of it.

I hope I'm proven wrong, but these open casting calls well end up being a waste of time. Disney will end up casting known actors.

The casting calls are mostly used for getting people for crowd scenes.

I suspect we might see an actual title come Jan or Feb since they are doing casting calls.

I highly doubt it. In the past Lucasfilm hasn't even announced titles until filming was virtually complete - I recall this hilarious clip from the day Attack of the Clones was announced as the title, after filming had finished:

and I remember Ford and LaBeouf announcing Crystal Skull's title for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2007, after shooting had been going on for a while already.
