Even though I am not a big fan of steelbooks and I already have the standard UK release, I HAD to order this today because it looks so amazing...

Default I really need to take a break from buying Blu-rays LOL......

This is going to be a bit of a long post, even though it's only like 36 hours worth of purchases So I will spoiler tag my explanations of why I bought everything, and what condition each BD was in, for those who are curious

Bought 07/30/2016

Hastings

I got both of these for $9.10 total

[Show spoiler]They were both used and priced at $5.99, so after the 30% (going out of business) discount and tax they were only $4.55 each. The best part is they both came with excellent condition slipcovers, and the case/discs are mint

I've never seen Skyline, and I can't recall hearing/reading anything too good about it, but I really enjoy alien movies, so at $4.50 with a slipcover I couldn't resist. As for Sanctum I've watched it a few times on Netflix, and I enjoy it, so it was an easy buy.

Oh and I was pretty surprised with how good a condition the slipcover/cases for both of these ended up being in, since you can't really tell when they're in the plastic coffin and plastic wrap Hastings puts used BDs in. They both have a bent/dented corner or two, but other than that they look like a slipcover on a newly released BD at Walmart (actually even with the bent corners they look like the new releases at Walmart ).

Luckily I received my (100) 12mm polybags in the mail yesterday, so I will now be able to protect them and all my other slipcovers Although I think I may have to order more of them, as I'm pretty sure I've got well over 100 BDs with slipcovers by now

Bought/Won 07/31/2016

Pawn Shop

I only paid $20.76 for the above four, and both Point Break & Interstellar were still sealed with their slipcovers

[Show spoiler]I've never even watched a single episode of Homeland, but it was only $3 so I couldn't pass it up. Unfortunately the case won't snap shut on the bottom, but other than that it's in excellent condition (no slipcover though).

Then both Point Break & Real Steel were blind buys, but I've been wanting to watch both of them since they were released. Of course if PB had been opened or even without a slipcover I doubt I would of paid $7 for it, since I remember hearing it wasn't too good. However, since it was sealed I figured I could sell the UV code for a few bucks to bring my price paid down. Real Steel was $4.99, and I've heard it was a decent movie, so it was an easy buy. The funny thing is I almost bought the BD/DVD combo a couple days ago for the same price, but luckily I decided not to because the discs were a little dirty on that one

As for Interstellar, I already own the BD so I mainly bought this copy for the slipcover It was surprisingly only $3.99 though, and I should be able to trade/sell the extra copy pretty easily, as it has the "Collectible IMAX film cell included" sticker on it. Although I'm having a really hard time resisting the urge to open it and see which scene the film cell shows

eBay

I won the above in an auction late last night around for under $5 shipped

[Show spoiler]It's used, but it includes the slipcover/box, and the description said the case/discs are in great condition. I just hope the seller actually honors it, as I am pretty sure if they do they won't even make a dollar off of it after shipping and PayPal/eBay fees

EDIT - Apparently as I was writing up this post I got the "SHIPPED" e-mail for the 1st season of TVD, so it seems the seller will be honoring it

Watched Last Night
from this set =

I mainly watched this just to try and make up my mind on whether or not I wanted to order the Jurassic World Limited Edition 3D Giftset, and it definitely helped me make a decision, as I ordered it soon after I finished watching the JW Special Features

Ordered 08/01/2016

Jet.com

I got all 3 of the above for $39.84 w/ free shipping Technically it was the 1st, as I placed the order at 3:30am, and they've already been shipped

[Show spoiler]I've been considering getting the JW giftset from Amazon the past couple days, but I kept resisting the urge, as $43 ($39.49+tax) was a bit more than I wanted to pay for it. Mainly because I already own JW in 3D, so I'd only be buying it for the statues, but I really want them

Then while I was watching the special features for JW I found the Jet.com deal thread on this forum, and there was a 20% off code for Blu-rays, so I decided to check the site and see if they had it for that same price as Amazon, and they did (probably because it will be "drop-shipped" or whatever it's called from them). So I used the 20% off code to get it for $30 and change (unfortunately the code expired at 5:59am PST this morning though).

Oh and the 20% off code required at least three Blu-rays, which is why I grabbed I Know What You Did Last Summer and The Happening. They were both around $4.65 with the discount, and I've been wanting to pick them up for awhile

All five movies, but for the first one I watched the extended version, and the Donner cut for the second (1st time viewing) Was cool to recognize locales around here where they shot the first and third movies. Haven't watched them in ages and was surprised to recognize where they shot the military convoy scene - on the way out to where I ski in the winters (very close to where they filmed The Revenant and Inception). I should do a little Superman tour around here before the summer ends, visit some of the locations.

The museum in Vulcan, AB has Christopher Reeves' Supes costume on display. They had it at their stand at Comic Expo a couple years ago.

I thought it was cool and creepy. And that Olivia Wilde did a great job. It's a relatively short film through (~80 min) so they wrapped things up pretty quickly. There did seem to be some areas that they could have explored further/better.
