Default Bi-Amp RC50

I have hooked up my RC50 with Marantz SR5005 (100wpc). Both can be Bi-Amped as per manual. Has anybody tried bi-amping RC50 and experienced significant improvement in 2 channel stereo?

I could had tried doing them personally but dont have extra wires right now.

Please guve your suggestions / experiences.

I have not tried it but Bi-Amping is not always better, Dynaudio for instance does not belive in Bi-Amping, One great single source of amplification is prefered to 2 less great, not trying to diminish your Marantz or my HK receivers but their is better out there, when it comes to audio, sky is the limit, Dynaudio does not even include a second set of binding post on their speakers. In this case I would say try it and trust your ears, if you look stricly for more power maybe it's a good alternative.

Only your ears will tell you, my ears could think otherwise.

Here's a guide to Bi Amping with pros and cons.

There really isn't a benefit to passive bi-amping as you can read in the sticky that Big Al posted. But you can most certianly try it.

I think I know exactly what you mean here.. Thanks!! and I m working on my funds and looking out for a deal on those CC10 .. please let me know if you find any too..

And yes I love her(puppy) too.. she is my little one.. eight months old VERY naughty, but the good kind

Yes they do look nice... btw I went to Best Buy just to hear the DT towers and the Energy Towers side by side and from what I heard I noticed that the DT has more bass to them. I was comparing BP-8060ST and the CF 50 .. they did not have the CF 70s

Just for fun.. to test it out** (look wise), I have changed my setup to be like this:
FYI - the CF30s are not hooked up.. I was not sure how I can hook it up and furthermore I did not want to blow anything away.. cause I need to sell them(CF30) since I just bought the CF70s.

Why not use them as surronds and put them on risers?

Don't the DT towers have a sub in them?

Not sure which one you compared with the CF-50. Bass is not everything in sound, not sure how you appreciate details with the CF and Imaging but for someone who has not much experience in that department it's hard to difirenciate the subtle differences in sound other than the bass. I will look out for a deal on the CC-10 but center channels don't go often on special.

The reason that the DT towers have more bass is because they have the subwoofers built into the speakers. Knowing best buy, they probably have the subs in the speakers turned all way up too. They do that with all of their subwoofers they have on display. Whenever I go to BB I always adjust their subwoofers to sound like they blend more, the way its supposed to be.

Do this, go in there and ask them to turn off the subwoofers of the DT towers and compare them directly to the Energy towers. Then tell me what you think.

You will enjoy hem alot more, you can trust me the highs will smooothen out and the mods will be more balance with them, the bass should improve although the Energy speaker will remain very linear meaning that no frequencies will over power another one.

Yes, that is what the bestbuy guy said too... DT has built in woofers. I was comparing the CF 50 and the BP-8060ST http://www.definitivetech.com/Produc...ctid=BP-8060ST

Anyway, yes you are absolutely right! Though I'm no audiophile.. I do appreciate and have some what of musical knowledge that allows me to appreciate the subtle differences... It is just that bass makes me smile more.. don't ask me why, cause I really don't know.. There of course other things that makes me cry happy tears when it comes to music too.. just thought I would share.. lol But thanks a ton for your help anyways..

So now you have a bit confused I think you will enjoy the sound of your CF-70 and once you put a good sub in the mix I think you will smile just like you did at BB.

The Energy speakers are not know for their bass unfortunately. I am not sure if you picked the right speaker for you right now but it might grow more on you than you ever thought possible. The CF-70 drive a considerebly bigger amount of bass than the CF-50 because of the bigger drivers allowing greater air displacement.

Absolutely, and for towers i don't know if you can use stands but yes if you wish, rather built a real speaker riser to place under the CF-30 llike 16 inches high.

As I said in a previous post, if you like your polk for now keep it. I do not wish to push you to buy something you will not like i would suggest you to audition.

All things considered what are your restrictions when it comes to subs and what would be your budget? Considering the price of your speakers i would not spend more than 600$ on a sub.

I know the PSW-10 was 99$ at some point so you can imagine the improvement of 600$ sub over it.
Do you listen to alot of music? Do you like Fast accurate bass? or just super low bass. What kind of music do you listen to, or is this setup strickly HT?
