I always open mine the moment I receive them and look them over. But I have discs I've had for years that I still haven't watched. So kind of in the same boat.

Wow, I spoke too soon and the physical media Gods heard me; Orbit has restocked Exorcist II! Went ahead and ordered that, along with Shape of Water 4K (it's already in stock!), and Long Good Friday 4K set from Arrow, which has the Atmos soundtrack. The CC of LGF does not have the Atmos.

If one of my discs is ever going to be rendered unplayable, chances are very high that it would be my penchant for not being careful with my things that will make it so...

Just another reason why the media server route works perfectly for me.

Im the opposite, every disc in its case, and a bit obsessed with handling.

I was much more careful back when I might have been considered somewhat of a collector. The move from vinyl and laserdisc to CDs and DVDs cured me of this. Going from beautiful gatefold packaging and liner notes to rinky dink jewel cases and small format DVD cases just put me off... To this day, I can't understand anyone getting excited over steelbooks and slip cases.

It's why I'm not so precious about physical media. I'm still buying for the quality but hopeful for tech like Kscope to mature and become more mainstream.

CD was horrible compared to vinyl. Fragile cases, and none of the grandeur of those beautiful sleeves and tactile vinyl.

I dig Blu-ray and 4K, also steelbooks though!

Personally, I rarely buy steelbooks and I'm not bothered at all about slip cases. I'm happy to keep a slip case if it has a different image to the cover on the case itself, but if it's identical and damaged in any way, then I'm happy to bin it. Here in the UK, Studio Canal's slip cases are normally just a copy of the image already on the inside of the case, so more often than not I've ended up throwing them away.

It's wild to me when I see someone get a refund because it didn't include a slip cover.

I think I've kept all my slip covers, but they're not something I care about if they're not included.

And I have 7 or so steel books, but I wouldn't have gotten them if it was cheaper to get a regular release for those particular movies.

Well I got through Columbo, and the very last disc is defective. And it sounds like I have to do an exchange with Amazon, which feels like more work than it should be.

Slip covers annoy me. I keep them they are nice but they get in the way.

I didn't used to like Steelbooks but there are some very nice ones with great art so I don't mind them now.

Yeah, I like a good Steelbook. Loved The Howling one, also M.Night’s Old.

I will say it was quite nice though not having to upgrade various parts of my turntable to deal with technical limitations that are not even a consideration with a CD player. I like not having to put up with surface noise or bad pressings.

This. I have quite a few Steelbooks but in almost every case they were the same price or cheaper than their regular counterpart. I have a few I paid a premium for but those are the exception rather than the rule.

Tulsa King is a great show and it was just renewed for 2 more seasons. The exteriors of the Weed Shop in season 2 were shot in the town where I live.

Second Sight posted on their social media pages that they will initiate a disc replacement for Blair Witch Project BD. There's an issue where it's supposed to plauy back in stereo but plays back in dual mono.

I watched mine but didn't pay attention to the sound output. I'll have to check it.

"Oklahoma is OK," and I was stationed there after I got back from Vietnam at Fort Sill in 1971.

I live in Georgia. They just happened to film those exterior and street scenes in the small town where I live. They also filmed some of Ozark and the HBO adaption of The Outsider here as well.
