I noticed that this brings my 4K count to 666! I'm going have to do something about that!

Except for a few Amazon exclusives, I have no problem finding several other authorized sellers to purchase my discs from.

Only 2 of the 9 discs that I just bought were from Amazon.

I use Amazon a lot and going from links here supports this site so that's good also.

With my local stores not selling movies it's time I look back into some places I seem to have forgotten about even though they had great service.

Gruv for example.

Amazon is precisely the type of company my wife and kids would look to avoid dealing with... and I would too if they subjected me to the ridiculous things I've seen posted on this site..

But right now.. Where I live, they are the best option by every measure - price, selection, return ease. I can still get many items the same day I purchase them.
My wife and kids hate the crazy amount of waste. I get multiple packages a day on different trucks. For every horror story I see posted here about improperly packaged discs, I can show you a picture that my wife texts me of some tiny trinket packaged in an enormous box filled with paper stuffing..LOL
I ordered a BLUE YETI mic for my son the other night. The next morning, he texted me that it had gone on sale by 25%. Because it had shipped, I couldn't price match so I ordered another with one click.. they both arrived that evening hours apart.. The return place is less than 100 yards from my front door..

Their preorder system is a joke. I bought The Stone Tapes Blu, and because I preordered, I have to wait two months for delivery, if I just take my chances, I can have it before Christmas, so I cancelled pre order, and bought it on store.

I had a 20 minute discussion with Amazon about how stupid this policy is, but they just give their standard reply, apologies and a £5 discount voucher.

About as much use as a fart in an astronaut’s suit to myself, who has spent thousands on their store.

Occasionally one of my pre orders will show a 2 month wait while buying it that day shows same day or next day shipping. Seems there are some bugs in the system.

It's also weird about how they are so different from region to region.. and yet still so interconnected... This summer, when I was on your side of the pond, I opened an account because I needed something in a rush. My son's tinitus acted up and he had a nightmarish flight from Toronto to Edinburgh in the tin can I cheaply booked us on (lesson learned).. knowing that we were going to be flying to London a few days later, I tried to have the best noise cancelling headphones I could find (BOSE) ordered to our AIRBNB... Of course the account was shut down (and the one I tried to setup under my wife) for possible fraudulence hours after my order was placed (ended up buying them in an ARGOS depot within a supermarket LOL)... What I wasn't expecting was the hoops I had to jump through when I got home to re-establish my Canadian account which was shut down as well...

That’s rough, I have tinitus so your son has my sympathy.

Argos used to be as separate store, it’s crazy that they are now part of a store, Sainsbury’s I think)

Yeah...I remember thinking that it had to be the most expensive purchase I'd ever made in a grocery store..lol...

I know that I've bought 2 more of these headphones since coming back for less than what I paid for the single one over there...

OT Post.

For JVC projector owners, if you could add 1 or more buttons to your JVC remote what function(s) would you add? If your using a programmable remote what direct call functions did you add? I’m in the process of programming my remote for a JVC projector.

For those with media servers Segate is selling IronWolf Pro HDD’s at a discount (here). I just purchased 9 14TB drives for my DIY NAS. Did so to mirror my Zappiti NAS or I may move to my DIY NAS and sell the Zappiti.

I'm kind of discussing this with SAPIENDUT in the JVC laser thread... he dislikes the new remote in favour of the old one's because they did away with direct access to lens memory settings. The old remote has access to 3 of the unit's 10 settings...I need access to 4 so I conveniently have them all assigned to the otherwise useless 4 "colour" buttons on my harmony remote.. try are indispensable to me as i have a scope screen and correct aspect ratio is very important to me..

This is what I have at this point in time for the JVC. For the Menu button I have the JVC Menu for < 1 second, press for ≥ 1 second will bring up Advanced Menu.

My lens memories are also mapped to the color buttons

I use the Harmony "smart" remote which is a simple model. The activity buttons are for Zidoo, ATV4K, and UHD BD player in that order.

[Show spoiler]

I love my remote so I really should be on the lookout for a spare for the long run.

I will be using the 16TB Iron Wolf drives in my NAS.

I got my first ever bad hard drive a month ago. It was a Seagate IronWolf 16 TB. Wasn't detected by either computer and made awful noises. Sent it back and got a Toshiba N300 18 TB.

I use the HARMONY ULTIMATE ONE which is essentially the same as yours with a touch screen... I might give up this hobby altogether if I didn't have a HARMONY. I have it all integrated with my google home for voice command..

How are you finding the shut down function with your 3100? My current JVC requires a double press of the OFF button from the remote because of the ARE YOU SURE? type popup that makes sense on lamp based projectors (where you really should not turn back on for an hour after shutdown).

With these lasers, there should not be the need for such a warning and OFF should simply be OFF.. I've been unable to confirm whether the software guys got the memo...

Currently, I've had to program 2 different JVC units into my remote in order to stimulate the correct procedure... I'm hoping that the new lasers have one button shut off or can simply take my currently programmed work around..
