As tempting as that might sound, I'm not sure I would be as interested in their acting abilities going the way of the Sith.
Look at Darth Maul. I'm amazed at how fast he became one of the most iconic villians in the Star Wars lore, with the smallest amount of screen time....in only ONE movie!! Of course Maul was featured all over in books, games, etc...but my point is Ray Park was an unknown, yet through is physical ability he made the character, not his acting ability.
I think that process can be repeated again in VII. If we are talking about Sith Lords, and JJ's fascination with time travel, bring me Darth Malgus from the way distant past!

I like the Abrams' idea. Introducing their kids in VII gives us a chance to get to know them before having them be the main focus in VIII and IX. If they just threw them in as the focus in VII we'd be like "who's this!? We don't care about them". Where as this way we get to enjoy having Luke, Leia and Han around a little longer.
Much, much better idea than the other way around i think.

Edit: Not sure i like the whole Obi-Wan daughter/granddaughter thing though. I prefer him being "solo" if you pardon the pun

If he is in this film then there needs to be another Harry Potter movie made just so he can be in it.

If he is indeed up for a role in this and gets it then I think he will drop out of Assassin's Creed.

As a producer maybe but hardly anyone cares if he stays on as a producer. People want him to star in it and if he gets a part in SW then I think he will drop out of AC.

guys, relax, I'd be very shocked if any of the actors mentioned so far are cast in Episode 7. Casts for these type of films come out of nowhere, actors that have not even been mentioned yet.

Exactly. ROTJ was a great sendoff to those 3 (beloved) characters. Move on, JJ.

Start the damn process already so John Williams can do the score; I don't want that hack Giachinno touching Star Wars.

Giacchinno a hack? That's a new one. He's not Williams, but he's no where near being a hack.

Ever since Cloverfield, Giacchinno has been a very popular composer, and I agree he's no hack!

Since Lynch never got to do Return Of The Jedi they should fire Abrams and bring him into do the films. We would find out at the end that Luke and Leia are really the same person and that once Anakin turned to the dark side his spirit was trapped in a place with a backwards talking midget. Luke/Leia and Han have to try free Anakin.

I had read that Michael Arndt's ideas (before he was released) were to focus on the younger offspring with the original characters in a supporting role but J.J. wanted to focus on the original characters while introducing the offspring.
Honestly, I like Arndt's idea better. I was an 80's kid and love the original trilogy but it's time to move on. Hand it off to the new generation and move the story forward. The sooner we meet these new characters, the better, I think.

We're meeting them still in the new one, but I think it's better they're introduced as supporting characters, giving us more time to get to know them, while giving the original cast one last shot at the limelight. This is my opinion of course, and I look forward to seeing how it all comes together.

Exactly, the audience needs to get comfortable with the new trilogy instead of forcing an entirely new cast of characters, so I understand why JJ wants the main three to be the leads and slowly introduce the new cast for episode 8.

Plus, I think JJ wants to play it safe seeing as how this is a new trilogy. I'm more comfortable knowing that a more than capable fan is directing/writing this with someone who co-wrote the OT than someone who was completely new to Star Wars and didn't appear to be a fan or anything.

In most ways, ROTJ was a send-off for Anakin, Obi-wan, and Yoda. Luke, Leia, and Han's adventures were really just beginning at the end of ROTJ.
