A lot of time, catalog titles get a good amount of noise reduction applied to their audio tracks, and while I’m not sure if Eva fell victim to it, the LD audio should be equal if not better than the JP BD.

There could be a set that’s similar to the Shout Factory Freaks & Geeks set with a chipboard box housing two separate cases for the two separate versions (in that case, the original 4:3 version and “official” 16:9 version, which was also available separately), plus a thin case for the two bonus discs.

I doubt the “classic” discs will be with the standard edition, but I’m hoping they’ll be available on at least one of the other editions that GKIDS is teasing. Otherwise, I’ll just pray that someone that doesn’t want them is selling theirs on eBay. Hell, I really just want the End of Eva “classic” disc.

Im guessing the red/black is the lower LE with ADV, the blue is the standard with only the new dub.

It does seem that I nailed my prediction about there being a pared-down 11-disc SKU, and the thinner one of the right in that Right Stuf image is probably the bare-bones 6-disc SKU that I predicted. Not that others didn't have the same hunch, as I'm not exactly a visionary.

It'll be interesting to see what the US MSRPs will be though, especially for the latter of which I am particularly interested in. As for the three cases within the 11-disc SKU, how are they going to divide that up internally? I guess they could do the following:

• "Official" TV discs 1-4
• "Classic" TV discs 1-4
• "Official" + "Classic" Revival discs + bonus features disc

...as no other configuration would make any logical sense.

So, has the CE got all the same on-disc content to that of the UE? If that’s definitely the case then I think it’ll be cancel the UE order and opt for the more compact CE instead.

The most sensible interpretation that can be made from the Zavvi image is that it shares the same discs, but the printed booklet is significantly thinner than the 156-page one that the UE features.
