Springtime is a great time in this part of the country from what I hear before all the tourists show up in the summer, so I have it penciled in as something to try and pull together.

I know logistics and travel can make it very difficult for most if not all, but stay tuned as it would be great to host such a get together.

I hope everyone is housebroken though.
What time do you want me?

Yes, but I paid $186 for it via GRUV. I used their 20% off coupon and that brought the price way down. Also bought Se7en 4K disc through them in the same order and that was $19.99.

I well remember when you used to write reviews of disc. I believe everyone you published was read by me.

Santa was really good to me this year, supposed to get my JVC RS3200 (NZ800) this coming Thursday. Have a Stewart Filmscreen 54in x 127in (138in diag.) 2.35:1 screen using StudioTek 130 G4 Ultra Perf material arriving in a few weeks. Already received my Engage Projector Mount and JVC 3D RF Emitter . Already have 2 pair of Xpand and 2 pair of Sony active 3 glasses.

So yes, we are up in years but we plan to keep on keeping on till we can't.

Yeah, I'm actually enjoying life a bit more than expected. probably why I'm here more these days.

As for a display, a projector doesn't work for my room, and I've beeen spoiled watching an 83" OLED. I do have my eye on the latest Hisense 100" 8 series. I'm still not sure if giving up a small amount of black level is worth a ton more brightness and size.

And then there's this wife issue.

Hope you continue in this thread. It is a good group and they have alerted me to titles I may have missed. Because of your post I added Looking For Mr. Goodbar to my Amazon Blu-ray Coming list.

If I were into direct view then that set would be a serious contender.

Member Vilya moved to a 85" Sony Bravia and seems to really like the size increase. Unfortunately his first one was damaged in shipment and had to be replaced.

It was a lateral move as far as screen size goes; I went from an 85" Sony X900F LED TV to an 85" Sony Bravia 9 mini-LED TV. It is the increased quality that I really like.

My first 85" Sony Bravia 9 TV was not damaged, but murdered in cold blood.

Sorry about posting the wrong info, the Recall button is showing signs of a lot of wear.

There's no reason for you to remember any of the details of my TV purchase, but you still did, so that recall button is working pretty good.

When my paternal grandmother was in her early 90s, she would get upset when she forgot some little detail. My dad would tell her not to worry because she had more to remember than most people.

I've apparently spent about $3k on movies and shows this year. I didn't even realize I had that kind of money floating around. And I'm like a couple years behind on watching a lot of them...

I really shouldn't be spending that much.

BJ's Wholesale Club Americans Spent 23% less money on streaming in 2024

According to The Wrap

https://www.thewrap.com/americans-sp...vices-in-2024/

"One reason, according to the report, is that 27.8% of Americans are experiencing “streaming fatigue,” which Reviews defines as “that exact feeling of being overwhelmed with the increasing number of streaming apps.” The report did not say how many of those SVOD-weary citizens ultimately ditched a subscription or two based on their fatigue."

Considering the cost went up and the spending went down it's even more of a negative trend for streaming. However ad supported streaming went way up so if you want to get paid to be brainwashed the future is bright. Sort of.

Same boat as me, but there is just so many appealing titles, including 4K catalogue. At the end ofthe day, we love film, so it’s not a waste mate.

The folks at The Digital Bits presents their list of the best disc of 2024 here.

Have already added two 3D titles to my Blu-ray to Purchase list.

Another female lead in a kickass role is the title Ghosted on Apple TV+, will buy if it makes it to disc.

I didn't do a physical media list this year but BOTH Trick r Treat and Trick or Treat on 4K discs are in there. Hell, I'd go so far as to say that my #1 is the 1986 Trick or Treat film on 4K disc.

There, I said it.

IMHO there is still no equal to the old CompuServe Navigator for forum messaging. CompuServe also provided one of the first versions of Mosaic to us which I used till Netscape was released.
