do you mean "new" or total? total will be around 300-400. New would be higher early in a formats life (in 2007 that would have been around 372) while now I would guess around 150 a year.

So I currently have 5 copies of the animated The Lion King...

I had gotten the Lion King bundle that comes with the 2019 version; so that came with a DVD, blu-ray for both.

I had gotten the 4k for cheap, kind of forgetting that I already had an HD version of Lion King. Which also came with the blu-ray.

And then I got a bundle off Amazon that was the cheapest Lion King 1-3 blu-ray. For like $9. That one is an import.

A little funky that the imports have a thicker case, even though it only holds 1 disc; compared to the 4 discs of the other case...

If I paid attention to the belly aching on this forum I doubt I've ever buy a new disc.

This 100%. I have even seen members change their minds about a purchase based on one member’s opinion of the picture quality.

The absolute dogs abuse The Abyss got, and it’s a cracking looking disc, despite the A.I fear mongering.
Even True Lies was nowhere near as bad as some were making out.

Then again, people were even nitpicking with The Hitcher, which was a beatiful transfer.

I've gotten a bit of a kick out of people talking about two scenes on the Seinfeld 4k being ruined by AI, that they'll stick to the DVD, only for someone to point out that the image issue they're talking about is also on the DVD.

Several post back I mentioned the Remote Central site was down. The owner of JP1 Remote site says the owner of Remote Central informed him the site will be restored on a new server.

I don't read threads on movies and most TV shows. It just seams like too many people go there just to com0plain about something irrelevant. I also don't read reviews, if it is a film I never saw I don't want any spoilers and if it is an old film, I decided to let my own eyes and ears to be the judge.

This is basically my take as well with the exception that I see lots of trailers (I go to the theater often). I tend to skip over the threads about films I'm planning on seeing as I don't want additional spoilers.

I never go into a thread about, or watch trailers for any movie I haven't seen... but, as I am a glutton for punishment, I always visit the threads after the fact to experience the depravity..

I have a major update on my situation placed behind spoilers for those who are interested.

[Show spoiler]The results of my prostate MRI done on Dec. 23, 2024 indicate that I have prostate cancer. My PI-RADs score was a 5 (out of 5) and that's as bad a score as is possible.

I saw my urologic surgeon on Dec. 30, 2024 and he told me that there is an 85% chance that I have a high grade aggressive cancer that has spread to an extent yet unknown. The test indicates an "extraprostatic extension: tumor contact length with prostate margin > 15 mm, which is considered a high-risk factor signifying potential for more aggressive cancer behavior and poorer prognosis."

The Gleason Score indicates the aggressiveness of prostate cancer and my doctor told me that mine is at least a 7 (out of 10), but it is likely higher.

A diagnosis of prostate cancer, and the grade of it, can only be made after biopsy and I am scheduled for a transperineal biopsy performed under general anesthesia on February 4, 2025. A cystoscopy (a lighted scope sent up the urethra into the bladder that can also take tissue samples) will also be done to check for bladder cancer and other issues. This appointment may require an overnight stay given my overall condition.

Having a diagnosis of cancer will all but certainly close the door on any chance of getting a heart transplant later. This is one comorbidity too many. It may also cause me to lose my place in the monoclonal antibody drug trial.

There's still more bad news: I also had another cardiac MRI done on Dec. 30, 2024 and my heart condition has worsened as well. My left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) has declined from 37% in July to 35% now. My right ventricular ejection fraction (RVEF) has declined from 39% in July to 33% now. Normal values are 55-70%.

My aortic heart valve is an abnormal bicupsid aortic valve (BAV) and it continues to have moderate regurgitation meaning that this valve is failing to close properly allowing blood to "leak" back into the heart when it should be pumped out of the left ventricle.

On January 22, 2025 I am scheduled for my second radio frequency neuroablation; this is where my pain management doctor goes in with electrified needles and burns the nerves at my L5/ S1 vertebrae area. The procedure provides temporary relief from chronic lower back pain and typically provides that relief for 6-12 months. The two week recovery period was quite painful when I last had this done in April 2024.

In summary, my major diseases are hereditary transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis cardiomyopathy (hATTR-CM), hereditary transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis peripheral neuropathy (hATTR-PN), and now all but certainly an aggressive form of prostate cancer.

How I am feeling and how I am handling these setbacks is another post for another time; this post is too long as it is and I have grown tired in the writing of it. The reading of it must be just as tiring for you, but thank you for enduring it. Thank you for caring, too.
