[Show spoiler]The results of my prostate MRI done on Dec. 23, 2024 indicate that I have prostate cancer. My PI-RADs score was a 5 (out of 5) and that's as bad a score as is possible.

I saw my urologic surgeon on Dec. 30, 2024 and he told me that there is a 85% chance that I have a high grade aggressive cancer that has spread to an extent yet unknown. The test indicates an "extraprostatic extension: tumor contact length with prostate margin > 15 mm, which is considered a high-risk factor signifying potential for more aggressive cancer behavior and poorer prognosis."

The Gleason Score indicates the aggressiveness of prostate cancer and my doctor told me that mine is at least a 7 (out of 10), but it is likely higher.

A diagnosis of prostate cancer, and the grade of it, can only be made after biopsy and I am scheduled for a transperineal biopsy performed under general anesthesia on February 4, 2025. A cystoscopy (a lighted scope sent up the urethra into the bladder that can also take tissue samples) will also be done to check for bladder cancer and other issues. This appointment may require an overnight stay given my overall condition.

Having a diagnosis of cancer will all but certainly close the door on any chance of getting a heart transplant later. This is one comorbidity too many. It may also cause me to lose my place in the monoclonal antibody drug trail.

There's still more bad news: I also had another cardiac MRI done on Dec. 30, 2024 and my heart condition has worsened as well. My left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) has declined from 37% in July to 35% now. My right ventricular ejection fraction (RVEF) has declined from 39% in July to 33% now. Normal values are 55-70%.

My aortic heart valve is an abnormal bicupsid aortic valve (BAV) and it continues to have moderate regurgitation meaning that this valve is failing to close properly allowing blood to "leak" back into the heart when it should be pumped out of the left ventricle.

On January 22, 2025 I am scheduled for my second radio frequency neuroablation; this is where my pain management doctor goes in with electrified needles and burns the nerves at my L5/ S1 vertebrae area. The procedure provides temporary relief from chronic lower back pain and typically provides that relief for 6-12 months. The two week recovery period was quite painful when I last had this done in April 2024.

In summary, my major diseases are hereditary transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis cardiomyopathy (hATTR-CM), hereditary transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis peripheral neuropathy (hATTR-PN), and now all but certainly an aggressive form of prostate cancer.

How I am feeling and how I am handling these setbacks is another post for another time; this post is too long as it is and I have grown tired in the writing of it. The reading of it must be just as tiring for you, but thank you for enduring it. Thank you for caring, too.
There simply are no words...

I am truly sorry the news was not better on both fronts. You continue to inspire with how you are facing what is in front of you, as you never have once complained about the hand that has been dealt. Not many people have changed my perspective on things, but you have.

It isn't often I'm lost for words, but on this occasion, I am. I'm truly sorry to read about your bad news - not the start to the new year I had hoped for you. I can only pray and hope that something positive happens for you despite your diagnosis. I thank you for taking the time and trouble in posting your results in what is clearly a very rough time for you.

God bless.

Maybe Vilya had some influence with Amazon to give us something positive, but this is the best deal on 4K titles I have seen in a long time. There are even some new and recent titles eligible, but I just grabbed 6 titles for $66, which would have cost me $147 regularly.

Happy Hunting

I decided to roll the dice with titles I have been on the fence with and grabbed the new Joker, Trap, Halloween Ends, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Wonka, and Scott Pilgrim.

I picked up Trap as well, along with Joker: Folie a Deux and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Almost picked up The Departed, Sherlock Holmes and The Bikeriders but I've already spent too much on movies in the past month. Halloween Ends was in my cart at one point as well but even $11 seems too much for that one.

I actually enjoy Ends more than H4 through to Resurrection. I always like to see something a little different. I really like RZ’s two efforts too, especially the far superior director’s cut of H2. There more I watch H4-Resurrection, the more I think they are turds.

My favourites are
Halloween ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Halloween 2018⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
RZ H2 (director’s cut)⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Halloween Ends⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
RZ Halloween⭐️⭐️⭐️
Halloween 3⭐️⭐️⭐️
Halloween 2⭐️⭐️⭐️
Halloween Kills⭐️⭐️⭐️
H20⭐️⭐️
H4⭐️⭐️
H5⭐️⭐️
H6⭐️⭐️
Resurrection⭐️

Picked up the 4K Steelbook of Trap, it looks and sounds fantastic.

Too funny. I had Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom as my 7th choice, but it ended up not making the cut.

I really enjoyed Halloween 2018 and actually thought Halloween Kills was even better. I was so excited for Ends but thought it was an enormous letdown. I think the fake posters for it online that had the title changed to Corey's Story were an apt description of it, with a Laurie/Michael battle thrown in because it's obligatory. But I'm glad you enjoyed it, just wish I had.

It was fun for what it was and I really like Momoa, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Patrick Wilson so it was an easy buy for me.

Snagged 3 titles: Wild Robot, Watchmen Chapter I, and North by Northwest.

I'm tempted to go back for 3 more but final day of VS releases/daily deals is today, along with the B&N order I've yet to place.

You just cost me $33. Can’t pass up $11 a title, so grabbed it plus the original Twister, and Godzilla v Kong New Empire.
