Several days after longtime Penn State football coach Joe Paterno and university president Graham Spanier were let ago amid a scandal involving former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, the college received a bomb threat at Beaver Stadium, where the Nittany Lions are set to play the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday.

Police and FBI investigated the threat, which was received at around 6:30 p.m. on Friday night to the main campus number, TMZ reports. According to Lisa Powers, director of public information at Penn State, the caller mentioned that there was a bomb at the stadium and police were informed immediately.

Ultimately, searches at the stadium late Friday evening with bomb-sniffing dogs did not produce any evidence.

The police and FBI are attempting to track down the caller, but as of early, no information has been discovered. According to Powers, Beaver Stadium has been on lockdown since Tuesday.

Shorlty after 9 a.m. on Saturday, Penn State sent out a school-wide message informing them of last night's threat. The message read, "Bomb threat received at Beaver Stadium. Police, dogs searched, nothing found," with a link to the story.

Students protested when it was announced that Paterno had been let go and his exit drew mixed reactions around the web, even causing Ashton Kutcher to defend Paterno before he backtracked from his statements. On Friday, Penn State put assistant coach Mike McQueary, who allegedly witnessed Sandusky in the showers with a young boy, on leave.

For Saturday's game, Penn State is urging students to arrive at the stadium earlier than usual.

As expected Penn State is having a rough time with Nebraska. They probably weren't going to win the game before this mess started, but you have to feel for the players. How do they prepare for a game with the circus that is State College right now?

I actually held out some hope Texas Tech might give OK St. a game. So much for that. Oklahoma St. is crushing them 66-6. I just don't get Tech. They beat Oklahoma on the road then lost their last 3 by a combined 159-33.

Penn St. almost rallied. Looks like Nebraska will hang on 17-14.

I was never a Penn State fan, but it was hard not to pull for them at the end. Quite an effort by those kids. Hell of an effort.

I meant 3 with a last second field goal. I no faith in him making that and expected the worst. Slec, I don't know how old you are or how long you have been a Tiger but that is Tiger football of the psat 20 years. A win is a win and I will take it but DAMN that was close. See you in Charlotte!

On the radio yesterday they mentioned that Miami was alotted 5,000 tickets for the game @ FSU and sold only about 1,000 of them. I know Miami is down right now as a program but that's pretty pathetic.

Does Miami really have fans? Home games are hardly ever sold out. Small shcool and no where near campus. They have never traveled and both teams suck this year. Sorry to say that but it's true. ACC was hoping for big things when Miami came in and have gotten nothing but embarassment. Even the baseball team has slipped.

Not trying to dump on the Canes but for a team with 5 national championships their fan base has always been extremely inconsistent. I know they're a somewhat small private school, but when you have as many championships as UF + FSU combined you should do better.

Part of the reason Tebow said he passed on considering Miami as a school he'd attend was because he went to a game and the stadium was half empty.

We have fans. Unfortunately it seems the ones that live close don't seem to want to go to games. Getting an on campus stadium would be a big step in the right direction, I know Golden has hinted at getting the ball rolling on that in the future.

Is there room on campus? Does UM have the money for a stadium now? I think the answer is no to both. Best bet is to get a coach that will allow UM to be UM. No disrespect but that means thugs with an attitude and a coach to back them with that same attitude. Until that happens again UM will be an after thought and CU will take what they want out of FL.

That's a load of BS, and you know it. We have the right coach in there, and we are going to be coming back through hard work, good coaching, and strong recruiting. Reverting back to the Jimmy Johnson days is not going to happen, and it shouldn't happen. Miami has a very strong early 2012 class coming in. The U will be back, mark my words.

TCU has already fumbled three times to start the 2nd half. Geez. Boise St. ran the first one in for a TD to go up 21-20. I think that was the momentum changer right there.

You think he will stay there rather than Penn St.? Words are marked and we will see in a few weeks. UM should not have lied to him.

Given other current and future coaching vacancies I really don't see Al Golden staying there for too terribly long.
