I was extremely pleased with the Imax segments, and the fact that about 3/4 of the movie was in Imax. Hefty increase over TDK. I wish every director would use the Imax format, damn does it look good!

As for #4, that was bad, but nothing will ever top Trinity in The Matrix Convolutions for me. I swear that scene went on for 5 minutes and got so tedious that I was screaming along with others in theater for her to just kick the bucket already.

Actually he says "no autopilot".
"no autopilot" <--- exactly.
[Show spoiler]That's why the ending is more like a dream, or, it is?? Hello Inception.

I really like Christopher Nolan's other works, just that it seem like this movie is rushed and are being made because of WarnerBros want more money. Also, I thought Bane is a pretty pathetic and boring nemesis in this movie. I don't feel his intelligent or wiz at all. And not to mention, I keep on annoyed by the fact that Bane is like a boring version of Dark Vader. The whole time, I can't wait for him to say, "Batman, I'm your father."

As for Guy Pearce, I really like him in "Prometheus" and "Lawless", I hope he will reunited with Nolan someday. Who know, maybe a story about "Riddler" only. Riddler perspective? Too many superhero side of the story, struggle struggle... blah blah blah.., why not Nolan try to tell story on the Villian side, eh?

¾ of the film was in IMAX? I thought it was a little over an hour, which would be maybe half? That more than doubled TDK's 28mins of IMAX footage.

I've been saying that for years. Someone should do a trilogy with the 1st film being the hero's origin story, the 2nd should be the villain's origin story, and the 3rd should be their showdown.

Rewatched it today with my Brother. He also really enjoyed it, while not being a huge fan of the first two.

But rewtaching it made me realize how little Batman is actually in the movie. I think I heard 33 minutes?

I didn't even notice that on first viewing, I was enjoying the film so much. But it's really noticeable on the second.

Just picked up my bat cowl edition today at HMV here in Canada... I got #1,749 out of 3,500... almost exactly halfway!

Also, I got a cell from the movie's 35mm print with Bane on it (from when he's standing in the hallway at the football arena). Did folks in the US get these as well?

They didn't come with any of the US releases that I'm aware of, but I got one with my Japanese import trilogy box. It was a shot of Selina Kyle.

Nice! It must be some sort of an exclusive to non-US releases. Quite a nice touch.
Couldn't have been numbered to 3500 worldwide though, what are the US versions numbered to?

I dn't have the cowl, but I think it was 30 or 35,000.

As for the film cells, they're not all unique. I think the Japanese site said sets came with one of 40 images.

My own video quality ratings:
BB: don't remember/care
TDK: 2/5 for 35mm scenes, 4.5/5 for IMAX scenes
TDKR: 4/5 for 35mm scenes, 5/5 for IMAX scenes
I think TDKR looks fairly nice overall. 35mm scenes are lackluster but better than the TDK mess.
Are you one of those people that don't like Batman Begins, but like the other 2? You should give it another shot, since it's one of the best Batman films ever made, that's actually about 'Batman'. I was so annoyed when TDK was released and some of my friends dismissed BB like it was the bastard child of the series, and made it seem so inferior for not being 'epic' as TDK. People tend to forget that TDK was so good because BB laid the groundwork.

Saw it opening night and that aspect was painfully noticeable the first time. That was a main topic of conversation afterwards. It was the last Nolan Batman film, so he shouldn't have been stingy with Batman's screen time.

He's says no autopilot because he wants everyone to think he is going to be dead. The ending with morgan freeman clearly shows that he fixed the autopilot. He didnt just fix the one at Wayne enterprises and not his own. That wouldn't make sense. Plus there would be no other reason to have that ending scene in the movie. It's not a plot hole, its a detail you are overlooking.

I don't dislike BB, but I don't feel any particular desire to re-watch it. It just didn't leave any sort of impression on me.
See, I don't really like Batman the character, at least as portrayed by Bale. Any time he's not kicking ass, he's a bore. The villains gave these movies energy and I like Joker and Bane more than the hodgepodge of rather unmemorable (or underused) nasty folks in BB.

How rare is the "Dark Knight Rises Best Buy Steelbook" going to be? Will it be worth more money down the road to sell, or is it worth keeping?

I have one that's sealed, so debating what to do with it.

Pretty sure there were too many released for it to be worth anything. If it was more of a limited release then it might go up, but your talking like $20 nothing worth not opening it.

It's pretty much sold out at all the Best Buy's and some bids are already reaching $40 bucks for it. So it must be pretty limited enough for it to be sold out.

watched it again, fourth viewing since release. two things i cant get over. one, the action/fight scenes are forced, rehearsed and gimmicky at times. second, how bane dies. outside of that, movie is still amazing.
