I think in the long run Penn State is going to be the biggest loser, not from NCAA violations but from the massive fallout that is sure to come with the Sandusky scandal.

So looking back at Paterno's teams which does everyone think was his best? He won national championships in 1982 and 1986 and coached 5 undefeated teams.

As good as the 1986 team was I still think it's the 1994 team. It's no secret that the 12-0 1994 team got F'd out of the national championship mainly because the voters wanted to reward Tom Osbourne with his first national title. They both finished undefeated, but because of some quirks in the bowl system in those days they played different teams in the bowl games and Penn St. finished ranked #2. They were terrific all around with Ki-Jana Carter at RB, Kerry Collins at QB, Kyle Brady TE, Bobby Engram at WR, etc.

Holy $hit TCU actually beat Boise 36-35, going for 2 after a late TD. That breaks Boise's 35 game home winning streak.

That was crazy. Gotta be Karma for that horrible pass interference call putting Boise in FG range. I feel badly for Moore, he's been so good, but kickers have been his achilles (no pun intended).

@Spurrier Sucks, I've been a Clemson fan for 15 years or so now so yea, I'm familiar with 'Clemsoning' bit we've avoided it thus far. GTech was an old school offense beating us. Boyd tried to beat us today but he came through late, that was close

I was 7 for the NC and remember where I was and who was there. It's been a struggle since Danny but things are getting better now. I still think there is too much Bowden hangover, soft, but 2 out of 3 years now. Cash it in and we will have made it over the hump. We should be back controlling the ACC like CU use to do. Go Tigers! Paul Johnson owns Kevin Steele. Thank God VT took them out.

WTF LSU... They're tied 7-7 with Western Kentucky with only 3 min to go in the 2nd quarter and something like 42 point favorites.

What a terrible call on the "sack" of Lamichael James. If a QB is trying to avoid a sack and staying up you don't blow the whistle and call him down. But when he throws the ball they blow it and call it down rather than let it be the INTERCEPTION it was.

I feel so bad for Boise State. They cannot find a kicker, between last year and this year they should never have lost a game. A damn shame. And what a battle for Miami, we lost the game but never gave up. I'm telling you guys Al Golden is going to do great things for us, I cannot wait until we get a few recruiting classes under his belt. He's a terrific coach.

I think it's partly just lack of big game kicking experience. Boise St. has attempted only 4 FG's in 9 games this season. That's what happens when a freshman kicker whose never attempted an important FG has to make one like we saw today.

I still can't believe LSU is leading W. Kentucky 14-7 at the half. They were favored by 6 touchdowns.

If Oregon wins tonight, they have a big argument for the national title game. Their only loss is to the #1 team in the nation. (Much like Alabama)

If Miami wasn't missing players in the season opener Maryland would be 1-9 after tonight with it's only win against I-AA Towson.

It seems a longshot. If LSU and Oklahoma St. run the table they'll play for the title. If LSU loses to Arkansas who would make it to the SEC title game from the SEC West? I'm having a hard time figuring that one out. I'll bet a one loss SEC team would make the national championship over a 1-loss Oregon team.

I don't know if Oklahoma State beats Oklahoma, it's going to be one hell of a game. Oregon's loss came in September, that has to mean something.

But strength of schedule matters too. Oregon's schedule just doesn't stack up well. And it's not like the loss to LSU was a nail biter. They lost by 13 points.

If Oregon wins tonight my guess is it'll be an SEC team (either LSU of a 1-loss team) vs. the OK St.-Oklahoma winner for the national championship.

My argument is that Oregon is a much better team now than they were in September. They're like a well oiled machine, they get better as time goes on. I hate to keep bring it up, but wouldn't this be the perfect year to have a playoff system?

This one is just about over. Luck would have to mount a huge comeback to save Stanford in this one. It's 36-16 Oregon now.
