I have a busy week ahead.

[Show spoiler]I have three trips to the hospital in St. Louis this week. Tomorrow is a routine follow-up with Neurology. It should be an easy appointment. I can expect to be hit everywhere with that little reflex hammer that they are so fond of using.

Thursday is my monoclonal antibody drug trial treatment and that means 5+ hours hooked to an IV along with assorted "to be announced" tests.

On Friday I have my second Radio Frequency Neuroablation done on my lower back. This is where my pain management doctors insert heated needles to burn the nerves at the L5/ S1 vertebrae in order to provide pain relief to my lower back. The benefits typically only last 6-12 months. It has been 10 months since I first had this done.

It was a painful procedure the first time. So much so that I was given three Fentanyl injections during it. I will have to stay with a friend for 24 hours afterwards. The recovery takes up to 2 weeks and the back pain actually increases for the first few days after the surgery.

Here's a 95 second video if anyone wants to see a brief demo:

^Looks like just another day at the spa. I had six of those needles driven into my spine 10 months ago.

Making this week with three hospital trips even more fun is the bitter cold snap and the 6-11 inches of snow expected starting tomorrow. For my Thursday drug trial treatment I have to be on the road by 6 AM, earlier if the roads are bad, and the temperature is expected be a numbing 2 degrees. It is 105 miles each way.

I do very poorly in extreme cold. I can barely sense my feet and lower legs when it is that cold thereby increasing my risk of falling. My friend that drives me to these appointments will probably have to push me about in a wheelchair.

That's my week ahead; I hope that you manage to have a better, and warmer, one. After this week I get a break until I have my next major surgery on March 4th- this could be either in or outpatient depending on how I do. I get an 11 day reprieve between them.

There's no confirmation that she got plastic surgery. If anything, she may have lost the "baby fat" and has a sharper profile. I looked at some before and after pics and I don't see anything wrong with her. I mean she did start acting as a child, so they tend to grow into their looks at some point. I mean, go look and see what Dafne Keen looks like now.

My son cobbled together a JELLYFIN server out of old parts we had laying around this weekend trying to convince me to drop NETFLIX. He played a a demo of Blade runner 2049 to convince me to sink a couple of bucks into a new power supply, case, and SSDs to get rid of my rat's nest of external drives hooked up to 2 powered 7 port USB 3.0 hubs with various 7 to 16TBs drives hooked up to the ZIDOO Z9x..

I got outvoted tonight on the family movie...wanted to stream THE GORGE but watched the stellar UHD of THE NICE GUYS instead because of the pointless anti-american sentiments running through my household at the moment. I guess I'll be dishing APPLE+ soon too LOL...

Booking my vacation tonight.. the family is trying to decide whether to visit the TITANIC museum in Belfast or the Cliffs of MOOR this summer, thinking that they'll have a choice on a future visit...It will all belong to Russia in the next 5 years....Even worse, we'll be part of the USA...all while we're presently discussing AJT's baby fat.. LOL.. The world is an absolutely insane rollercoaster.. Things are bout to get absolutely insane... watch as many movies as you can..LOL..

For me, a Jellyfin server and Netflix are very different things. And, I wouldn't have any use for a Jellyfin server. However, everyone has a different use case. I don't really like NF and they are raising prices but my kids seem to need it for now at least.

I get the Anti American vibe everyone is feeling it try to remember a lot of Americans don't like the news. I agree watch movies now.

And ATJ if you read any of this I think you look so charming I would struggle to look away.

Stuff like this is making it harder and harder to be a based physical media enjoyer.

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Panic...lu-ray/211017/

$45 for a 23-year-old movie that wasn't even received that well... And no separate Blu-ray or DVD release either.

My order is at $34.49 thanks to Amazon's pre order price gizmo. They did say it was arriving today up until yesterday when they said it was delayed until Friday. I will send you my DVD if you want it and I can find it.

I noticed it was $45 at Walmart also. I would consider this a Blu Ray release as much as a UHD BD given it contains the Blu and the price is somewhat random.

I love the movie.

So this is a first for me.

A family member asked for help digitizing some VHS tapes, then I offered to a few other family members.
My sister gave me this tv series Devil Hunter Yohko on VHS. Seems like a niche show, can't find any subtitles for it.

When I recorded it, the audio has some buzzing that's not supposed to be there. So I'm working on removing that. This is the first time I've tried editing audio, and I'm probably not doing it correctly.

I paid $27 for it months ago when I pre-ordered that, along with Social Network and the Kill Bill 4Ks. It was one giant order and I had a 25% off coupon with Movies Unlimited. I posted that here, too.

I never pay MSRP price. The only ones I don't buy outright are Disney items. I wait and see on those, because they just rip you off blatantly upon release day.

I now have an account with Movies Unlimited but have not made an order yet. After almost 19 years Amazon is no longer the automatic “go to site” for movie disc orders. The last two orders were from Walmart (2 titles) and Target (2 titles).

There use to be a site were you entered a title and it would show you the price from several vendors but it appears to be gone. A collector with info on were to buy disc:

I have been buying physical media for over 40 years and I have never needed anyone's help in figuring out where to do it, yet alone from a youtube video personality.

If others find this kind of video helpful, then good for them, but I know how to do my own research.

$45.99 is the MSRP for this just released title. Once supply has caught up with, or exceeded, demand you should be able to find it for substantially less.

If not, you can justify the occasional full price purchase when you consider all of the bargain priced purchases you made. Every time that I get a disc for cheap it makes it easier for me to pay full MSRP when necessary.

is available for $29.99 at Sony's ebay store:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/31620316694...Z63C2TCQXGV7CQ

It didn't even take me five minutes to find a better price.

A number of businesses have ebay stores where brand new merchandise is offered. It's not just scalpers selling new & used stuff there.

And here's the thing. Kill Bill 4Ks were nothing more than a lazy 2K upscale with really nothing new over the Blu-ray. Definitely not enough to justify spending another $30/ea for these movies.
