The review scores for New Super Mario Bros 2 are surprisingly mediocre. GameRankings average review score is just 77.5%, compared to 89.2% for New Super Mario Bros on the DS. I'm sure it's a good game but it does sound below expectations.

Well it's good, but it doesn't go beyond what was done in "New Super Mario 1". "Super Mario Galaxy" for example, added the Yoshi element, and made the game a bit more challenging.

Also, "New Super Mario 2" is way too easy... Took me a week to get through all the levels and get the special coins. It's still a lot of fun and the 3D is effective, but if I had to choose between this and '3D Land' as a better game, I'll choose '3D Land'.

Madridista, can you explain why the 3DS logo is on the right part of the cover instead of being at the left or top?

The 3DS game covers have always looked weird because of the placement of the 3DS logo.

It's so it looks different to DS titles. And it's on the side because of tradition I guess? Going back to the Gameboy the Handhelds name has been on the side of the box.

PAL regions it's always been on the left, as far I can remember.

Eh, I'll just have to get used to the logo on the right side, I guess.

It looks stupid, yes. But it's a way for them to continue their vertical logo line as they did with the former handheld game cases, such as GameBoy and GameBoy Advance. A rumour stated that if it was on the top of the case, then the artwork would look too flat rather than the square/boxed design we've got now.

Whether that's true or not, I don't know, but I like the more square/boxed design, rather than having flat artwork. But the logo line being on the left looks stupid :/ They only did that to have it separated from the DS line.

Animal Crossing: Jump Out is looking really good. As is Square Enix's Bravely Default: Flying Fairy (ridiculous title though), which basically seems to be a pre-Playstation era FF game, which really seems to be making older fans of the series really happy.

I totally wasn't planning to get a 3DS, but these two titles have sold me. I'll probably grab the system along with these two games when I go to Japan in a month.

The 3DS is region locked, correct? If that's the case, I might also grab Super Mario Land 3DS and New Super Mario Bros. 2 while I'm there, if I'm feeling rich.

^ Yes, the 3DS is region locked.

And new games came to me recently:
