Did any of you guys get your triple packs in yet? What'd you think? I find that I have to punch up the color on my HDTV for the H20, but other than that, it looks great. |

We are half way through watching "Curse" and even though this is in 1080i, it walks circles around the Dimension DVD release. The DVD release was just way too damn dark, blacks looked crushed, dark scenes were terrible, etc. There are some white specs that pop up here and there throughout. From a PQ standpoint, this looks really good and I can only imagine what this would be like in 1080p. My only complaint so far is the audio, it is way too soft and way more front heavy......so if the Echo release is DTS-HD MA 2.0, then it shouldn't be that big of a problem at all since the rears in "Curse" are not as active, but I did have an issue with H20 not having a 5.1 mix. I still bet that Echo will screw this up and give a much worse PQ than this 1080i print. -------------------------- Watching H20 now, I can confirm that the excessive DNR in the Echo release is very bad. It doesn't help that the PQ is inconsistent throughout looking ok in some scenes and bad in others. In the Alliance release so far the PQ has been consistent throughout. Again, the DTS-HD MA 5.1 mix here, is more front heavy like the what is found in Echo Bridge's DTS-HA MA 2.0 release. There is some sounds and effects coming from the rears, but not what I would have expected. What it comes down to it here is the picture quality. The difference is pretty big between the Alliance and Echo Bridge release. The EB release has excessive DNR and everyone looks like they went tanning before filming, it is that bad. At this personally do yourselves a favor and just get the Alliance release considering how much they screwed up H20. Now I just need to get Dracula 2000 Alliance release. |

I posted above how I felt about H20...also a huge improvement PQ wise. It just seemed like the color was a little on the dull side, probably a result of the original print since the dvd wasn't that colorful either. |

The Alliance triple feature seems the best bet at the moment but H20 seems to have been issued on DVD by a large number of different companies in Europe and the rest of the world so it'll be worth keeping an eye out to see what eventually gets issued there

![]() Sure, I wish I wish I could use my Alliance triple pack (for anyone who hasn't read my earlier post, my triple pack no longer plays in any bluray players, despite the fact that it's relatively new, and scratch free, etc.). I would definitely prefer the lossless 5.1 of the ATP, but the audio in the EB version sounds good -- not great, but good. Since my triple pack no longer works, it was either go back to the H20 DVD, or get the EB version of the bluray. |

Now with Echo Bridge sucking, everybody seems back on the Alliance Triple Pack bandwagon. to sum it up, I don't think there is any actual GREAT version of H20 on any home video platform. But if you have to pick, I guess the Alliance version gets it the most "right." |

My copy of the Alliance Triple pack arrived. Unfortunately it's all on a single disc, and Curse and H20 are in 1080i. The menu is pretty great, showing clips from all three films.
Curse looks pretty damned good, even with the grain levels being somewhat high. Blacks are inconsistent, but when they're deep, they're excellent. H20 is very spotty, with specks all over the image throughout. There's one black speck that is prevalent for 44 seconds into the film from the start. The black levels are decent, even in the grain. It is still far better than the Dimension DVD. The bitrate is quite high, I even saw it hit 24mbps. Resurrection seems to look the best on the disc, perhaps tied with Curse. The grain is there, but it looks fine. Black levels are decent and on par with the other films, from the skimming I did. When I watch them all this weekend, I'll post complete reviews.
