Movie Stop delivered this time. On Tuesday I went in to get The Final Terror and Cry-Baby. I had some store credit when I was done so I asked them to special order Cannibal Holocaust for me and of course they act like they are shocked that they didn't receive any copies for the store (I wasn't). Move forward to Thursday. My friend from New York is down so we went shopping. Upon scanning the new release rack I notice 2 copies of Cannibal Holocaust on Blu-ray just sitting there ($27.99, not too bad). Anyway I grab one and my friend grabs the other. When I went up to the counter they told me my special order came in the night before (mind you this is the next afternoon and no one had bothered to call me and tell me it was there). Anyway, apparently myself and 1 other customer asked them to special order it on the same day so they ordered ours and some store copies and got them quickly. So my friend lucked out and got a copy because let's face it, Movie Stop initially had no plans to stock it. Great release and I was so excited to find that surprise waiting for me yesterday. Also, if you live in the Massachusetts area you may be able to score a copy in store at the Seekonk, MA Movie Stop location. There was one copy left in the new release section as of yesterday. Happy hunting.

I noticed on the Official review, that the special features does not list 'In the Jungle: The Making-Of Cannibal Holocaust' which was on the 25th Anniversary DVD... Or has it just been renamed to the 60 minute Director Interview?

wasn't planning on buying it. I was in the store and saw they only had 2 copy's so I got one just in case. That being said I did not like this movie at all and returned it today. Not really sure why anyone would want to own this but if it's your thing hey go for it I just couldn't do it. Not for me.

Just Finished watching it and I liked it. Thought it was actually a pretty decent movie. I don't really like found footage type Horror movies but this was actually pretty good. Some scenes were pretty hard to take like the Animal killings but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The soundtrack was pretty cool also.

Like many have mentioned before if you haven't bought this yet and want to, Kmart is the cheapest and $.99 shipping.

Same could be said by anyone for any movie. Not sure why you had to sound condescending to those who do want it.

How would you guys compare cannibal holocuast to canibal ferox? I saw CF a few years ago when I tried to get into the whole cannibal thing and it kind of turned me off from the sub genre.

Good it's nice to know that some think CH as being on a different level. I assume that CF was just an attempt to cash in on the success of CH?

No real people were killed in Cannibal Holocaust, just a few animals.

The one that began the whole found footage horror genre thing has never looked quite good on blu-ray as the PQ restoration in 2K looks sharp even the coloring even during the hard to watch scenes and the AQ is fantastic.

I thought the animal killings in CF were less humane than Holocaust, but overall its much lighter in tone and not as well made.
Cannibal Holocaust is the king of the sub genre for sure with Jungle Holocaust coming in right behind it.
