Bad news guys...

Just got off the phone with a rep from Dark Delicasies. She just told me that the release and the signing event have been pushed back til at least sometime in September. No reason was given. Bummer.

The Friday the 13th website posted on Facebook yesterday that an announcement was due today about the Doc but that's all that's been said so far.

It will probably be released when the movie set is released.
Still waiting for it to go up on Amazon.

I still gotta give them my new debit card number when I get it, since my old number was stolen.

So the whole release date is being pushed back? That really really really sucks.

Is this true? Is this really delayed? If so, depending on how long, I might have to look into cancelling my preorder for the time being. I just preordered it on their website last night unde the pretense that I'd be getting it in about 3 weeks. It was done via paypal, so I've been charged already. If this has been delayed more than a week or two, I think I want my money back. I still want the release, but I don't see any need to have this company hold onto my money for months on end when all they are promising is an extra dvd.

My exact feelings... I preordered a few weeks ago and if they are really pushing this back a month or more I will take my money back... This is garbage

I was just thinking the other day that it's weird there is no trailer or clips online yet, and was thinking it may be delayed.

Yeah, and if they are pushing it back any real length of time, I feel like I ordered under false pretenses. I mean, I just checked and at this very moment, the banner on their website still says:

Your Bad Luck Begins In

20 days/8 hours/47 minutes/10 seconds

Maybe that has nothing to do with the release of the film. Maybe that's on the site because in that amount of time, I'm going to be opening the mailbox to not receive the blu-ray I prepaid for? Bad luck indeed.

Maybe they're using the delay to actually spring for 2 BD discs instead of one? That's as likely as Shout using the manufacturing delay on the Bruce Lee set to re-press the discs with HD masters.

I just got to this thread, so I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but...a 7 hour feature on one BD disc? Even on a BD-50, which I doubt they're using considering they're such a small company, that sounds like a compression nightmare.

I think it's only the signing event that has been postponed, not the doc it self

Nope. The Doc has been delayed. And due to it the signing has been pushed to September.

Kind of a bummer. Hopefully it was delayed so they can extend it over a 2nd BD? Probably not, but it'll keep me satisfied during the extended waiting period!

As long as it's still coming, I'm fine. I'll keep the DD preorder and just have the money in my account on September 1st.
