Yep! I was just going to post that. I have both Unrated and Director's Cuts in my Vudu account. Very pleased.

Even after you submit the code and choose where you want to redeem? it still gives you an all number code? I know the after you enter the code and choose iTunes the new code is letters and numbers all CAPS. I never choose UV or Google Play, so i was just wondering, I don't use UV very much but I remember lowercase when letters were used. I'm just thinking of ways to redeem both.

Back when Fox was allowing both, the code on the sheet looked similar to the codes they give you for iTunes. But I have no experience seeing a UV code since they changed to one redemption.

Sorry, I should have read your post fully. I thought you were asking about the initial code. I did not redeem my code. Sorry.

Its #s only. You can redeem directly from vudu without having to go to foxredeem.

Really? and then when you enter the code at foxredeem, it tells you it was redeemed at Vudu?

Wow, Fox really wants you to redeem only once if they have it protected that way. I wonder why the original number only code doesn't work in iTunes? I just wish they would actually have iTunes as on option everything.
Thanks.

Fox's method is very similar to Disney's method for preventing codes from being redeemed directly on both Vudu and iTunes. The fox redeem site just verifies that the code hasn't been redeemed on a UV site or itself. If it hasn't, you're able to get a new code that is valid in iTunes (as you mentioned). Making the original code invalid for iTunes and issuing a new one eliminates the need for Fox to access the iTunes system.

My guess is that this is being done because there isn't an easy way for an outside site to connect to iTunes to verify whether a code has already been redeemed there. In comparison, the UV system is basically built around the ability of different sites to verify whether codes have been redeemed anywhere on the system. So, I imagine that it is easier to built a site that issues new codes for iTunes rather than a site that can verify whether a code has been redeemed on iTunes.

That makes sense. I like how Disney does it better though. If you redeem you code at DMA you get it in Vudu/iTunes/Google Play. But Fox you only get one of those. But its UV. One of the reasons i like iTunes is that its not just another website.

Also here is the redemption options for an older code from the 2/11/14 release of The Counselor. UV OR Google Play.

I've been tossed back and forth by multiple studio customer service teams, vudu's explanation of this confusing mess came the closest to what many of you in my friends list have conveyed to me.

I have been a victim of a confusing DC mess, and have been told every explanation left and right, such as "and codes are no longer honored, everyone has switched to "or", limited places will honor "and" codes, disney legacy redeems 1 way and even they are uncertain if the old way works still as well (if not in the vault) like with Brave which is a pixar title that required a disc that is exempt from the vault and doesn't have to follow it.

I have been fed every explanation, mainly lies. some truth, but im very stuck, on code language, "and/or", etc. I am hoping for help today in getting unstuck.

I'm not really sure what you're asking. I understand that you're frustrated and confused by digital copies. Is there anything specific you're looking for help with?

This should be updated to include Google Play as a redemption option in addition to iTunes and UV for HBO codes. Thanks!

The specific thing im looking for help on is, telling the difference between "and" and "or" when redeeming a movie. ive struggled with this for a while as i have been using "And" since i started with ultraviolet, the other specific thing im looking for help with is making the best decision as to where to put my movie when redeeming.

And/or meaning "UV and iTunes" / "UV or iTunes"? The first post in the thread tells you accurately which studios give you both copies vs either/or copies. Can you elaborate further?

Is there a way to redeem an Australian digital code to a US UV account? I'm using Hola and I get the code to accept on foxredeem.com but after choosing Flixster it just loads and loads and loads.
