I watched from the very first episode because I like Bridget Moynahan. I don't think I missed a single episode during its run. Feels very odd that it's over.

Given the cast's enthusiasm to continue the show and its very good ratings, it's stupid of them to cancel it. I can't see another show doing better in the timeslot.

NCIS: Sydney season 2 is going to be part of the Friday night lineup at the end of January.

Sad this show is over. I've been watching since it premiered. This is the longest-running show I've ever watched from beginning to end as it aired, without ever missing a single episode. Part of me wishes the series finale had been a little bigger, maybe two hours, but then part of me also liked that it just kind of felt like a normal episode. That sort of helped create a sense that these characters' stories are going to continue off-screen rather than feeling like every single thing was tied up nicely with nowhere left to go.

For years now I had suspected that whenever the show ended it would involve Frank retiring as commissioner, as there were plenty of later episodes where you got the sense he was thinking about it. I remember one where he was frustrated over something and someone asked him if he was thinking about retiring, and he said, "I'm closer to the end than I am the beginning." But now I'm glad it didn't end with that.

I agree that the final should've been a two-hour deal. Walker, Texas Ranger didn't go as long as Blue Bloods and it was given a two-part episode for its closing.

God bless you always!!!

Holly (a huge fan of both shows)

one that will always really piss me off is how Buffy and Angel finales and the reason is the WB refused to let Joss Whedon put those as 2 hr finales. Buffy needed to be 2 hrs so did Angel. they both felt rushed because he wasn't allowed to do that `312

I remember Frank saying that he is closer to the end that he is the beginning, but I don't remember which episode he said it in. What you said about how the final episode went makes sense.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. I hope that Eddie plans on parking her pregnant butt behind a desk considering what happened with her at the beginning of the final episode and Danny, I hope that he eventually hooks up with Maggie the medium since she was able to speak to Linda for him in her first episode. I bawled like a baby when she said to Danny, "Linda wants me to tell you that she loves you more."

The same; have watched from the very beginning although the draw for me was probably more being Tom Selleck's involvement. But, yeah, don't really understand the cancellation decision. About as puzzling as when they cancelled Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.

Can't believe the events of the final episode! Shock *still* setting in that there will be no more new episodes but it had such a long run!

honestly i had forgotten about that medium actually. my hope is that when i do end up buying the last season it's got really good deleted scenes for the final episode such as did they film that lunch with Danny and Baez?

anyone gonna watch the spin-off that has Danny in it apparently? even if it is out of Character. one wonders if the reason that he left was because him and Baez started to date and therefore he had to change Precincts ? but Chicago i think it was? is one hell of a change don't you think?

It's set in Boston.

I'm not sure about the spin-off. I really like Danny and Donnie plays him so well, but to me it seems strange that he just suddenly up and leaves New York and the rest of the Reagans. The family element was such an integral part of Blue Bloods that I think following one of them in their own show is just gonna leave you feeling like "where's the rest of the family?" Plus, I've never liked the idea of Danny and Maria being a thing, so if that relationship is carried over into the spin-off I wouldn't really be interested in seeing that.

And also this spin-off is re-tooled from another show CBS had already been developing by different people, so I don't believe any of the creative talent from Blue Bloods is even involved.

I wouldn't be surprised if Danny's reason for leaving NYC is detective Baez getting killed at some point.

God bless you always!!!

It's been almost five months now since I left this message and I still haven't seen anything about when the final DVD will be available. Has anyone here read or heard anything about it yet especially with the spinoff show being later this year?

God bless you always!!!

Have checked the database here and the US DVD release of Blue Bloods' final season happened around the middle of December last year:

Hope this is of some help.
