I think you are the second person to mention this. Seems highly unlikely, considering the street date for previous season releases, but I would definitely welcome a November release, that's for sure.

Thinking about it, they released the digital copy of S5 back in November didn't they? Maybe it worked so they decided to make the physical release then as well.

didn't have a chance to on Saturday when it came in the mail, but i opened up my Bolton set last night.

was surprised to see the image of Tyrion and Drogon on the packaging for the discs.

it's like getting the best of both worlds!!

looking through the database i couldnt find any house sigils outside of the U.S., have they stopped doing them internationally in favor of the standard set? or are those usually released at a later time?

i made it a point to mention that the "regular slip" is just a clear plastic slip that goes over that image

the actual image of tyrion and drogon is not printed on the slip, its on the packaging housing the digipak

That's not exactly accurate, though? It's partly clear, sure - but only inside the sigil border on the front (though the sigils themselves are clear) and inside a small section on the back (to show the Iron Throne on the packaging).

Just got my copy of the Bolton version. Aaaand...it doesn't match with the first four Best Buy exclusives. Not even remotely. :/

The first four had this weathered, textured slipcover while this one is just a foil cover. Seriously - what the f*ck. Would it have been that hard to retain a little bit of consistency?

At least season 5 matches the thickness of season 4.

I got the Martell slip but yeah I kinda don't like the slight gloss finish since it shows my phone when I take a picture of it hehe. But I just have to angle it right so the slight reflection won't show. Other than that, I like it and since I got the Martell slip and the cover is yellow-ish gold-ish sand-ish color, I just make believe that this sand-ish color represents Dorne, a sandy place where the Martells are from.

Got my Best Buy order today. If this slip wasn't released as part of an existing set people would be all over it. It's very nice. Waiting on my Target order to show up so I can piece together everything I want. Luckily have a friend willing to buy the extra set without the bonuses.

That's kind of my logic with the Targaryen slip. I figure Dany's been in sandy environments for the whole run of the show and she's just "rebranding" the Targaryens.

That's what I'm convincing myself on this release as well. I'm taking the risk that for S6, they bring back Bolton, with proper TV banner colors as well. Best Buy could just as easily make S6's release as unique to match the retail wide release (like this set was), and bring back Stark, Lannisters & Targ again. Just as long as Bolton returns, I'll be set.

Plus, I'm not sure how much the Martell's will be shown in S6, but it definitely looks to be Bolton-heavy, so with the Sand Snakes making an appearance in S5, it makes sense to go with Martell for this release. I'm over thinking it to justify the choice I'm making, but whatevs.

Still wish we could have gotten that Stannis cover, but that likely wont happen ever now.

no problem with mine, but I do them through iTunes and then Vudu rather that the HBO site they have on the slip.

Maybe BBY needs more bad reviews of these new style of exclusives to take notice. Though the fact that they are flying off the shelves anyway doesn't help.

It's been cloudy here in VA today so depending on where I've looked at it the color has changed alot. It's so super reflective, it's looked deep brown to white-yellow and everything in between.

For those asking, I had no issues getting the code to redeem in Flixster and then in iTunes by going through the HBO site.

Got my best buy order in today, too. It is way better than what I anticipated. It's not like the other sigils, no, but it's not as cheap as I would that thought. Thinner without the DVDs, but still cool.
