Local BB employees don't know it's possible. How do we find the preorder cards? Are the in the bluray section? Are they kept off the floor?

In my store they were in the bluray section along with preorder cards for F&F7 & PitchPer2. All 3 were $19.99 + tax.

I've got the per-purchase card that I picked up today if you need pics.

Both my local BB I went to today had these pre-order cards at the bottom of the New Release display shelf, right in front of the store entrance. Sometimes they recycle these cards at checkout and they tell you your receipt is all you need to bring back with you to physically pick up your steelbook & for digital redemption. If you don't find them on the shelf, I suggest walking straight to any of the cashiers and ask if they have these pre-order cards tucked away at their checkout station.

Not hard to assume he blind bought the preorder and watched the pre-release digital copy that came with it and decided he didn't like it

I know this is sold out online currently, but shouldn't the store pick up option become live at some point?

Anyone having issues with their digital code, I've played MAD MAX on two computers and it's only letting me watch it in SD due to some copyright issue.

Does pre-ordering via the pre-order cards in store mean that they are actually going to set aside a copy of the steelbook and hold it for you for X number of days?

I thought someone in another thread said that is not the case. That you still would have to get to the store on release day early to make sure you get a copy of the steelbook or else you may end up with just the regular blu-ray. That seems to defeat the whole purpose pre-ordering.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

In case no answered you, from what I see 9 times out of 10, they're on the new release islands (the big stand alone displays in the middle of the floor) usually on the very bottom row.

I never pre-order in store but since I did with this one, I asked the cashier and she said to bring my receipt up to the service desk and they'll give me my copy. She also said in the off chance you don't have the receipt, they can look it up via your RZ card/number. I have heard if you don't pick it up within 5 days it goes to the sales floor but I really can't confirm that. Being as the card specifically states it's for the steelbook, I highly doubt they would try to hand off regular editions. They could probably get into a lot of trouble for that.

Usually its 15 days because of the return policy.
Basically the order is cancelled and the money is refunded for people that don't pick up their items.

Thats why people say they "magically" have stock at regular price later on, it's cancelled orders and usually it's past the sale week so it's at normal price.

I ordered about a month ago online and my movie is showing backordered. Not happy, I guess I will try to pre order in store and see what happens

This is exactly how it's worded on the back of the pre-order card.

Quote:
OFFER TERMS Blu-ray Steelbook available for pickup 9/1/15-9/26/15. After 9/5/15, Mad Max: Fury Road Steelbook may be replaced with standard blu-ray version through 10/1/5. You must pick up your physical copy no later than 10/1/15. If you have not, payment for this card will be applied solely towards the purchase of the Digital HD version.

I've only been able to watch SD as well. It doesn't really bother me though, the 3D blu will just look that much better.

100%, it happens with every high demand steelbook preorder. It will, at the very least it'll pop back up the night before release day.

I get my card renewed, and it's sold out. Typical.

Fingers crossed, or else it's eBay for me. Or maybe a steelbook from Zavvi gets announced or something.

I don't know that I would trust Best Buy to get a steelbook into my hands with this offer.

The way this pre-order works is that you're buying the download as much as the steelbook so they won't give out refunds. If you order for an in-store pick up and the store gets shorted on steelbooks or your order isn't pulled in time, you're pretty much screwed and can't get a refund.

I would not be surprised at all to see a lot of irate posts after release day from people who got stuck with a regular, non-steelbook edition of Fury Road.
