I don't know if they will be original or re-recorded, but both films will be preceded by a Moviedrome introduction (followed by a couple of additional TV programmes):
Well spotted Ocean.

As far as I'm aware, Alex Cox is still alive so it would be interesting to hear his views several years after the original broadcast. Failing that, I'd be happy to see a repeat of his original introduction.

Nevertheless, Wicker Man is an outstanding film and without any doubt whatsoever is a must-watch film - unlike the remake!! Don't Look Now is excellent too. I hope this may be the start of a season of classic films on the BBC.

Sometimes I look for inspiration for something to post about, including looking in the nooks and crannies of the listings. You hope some people will appreciate it. On this occasion I had a memory somewhere of Moviedrome being discussed here (not surprised it was a few years ago (the memory was vague). BBC Four is one of my favourite channels for it's variety of programming.

Along with more editions from the Les Dawson era of Blankety Blank, I'd like to see BBC Four repeat some editions of the Barry Norman-presented Film series (of the ones I got to see, I loved his sense of humour).

Public Eye has been getting another repeat run on Talking Pictures. On my list of older UK TV series I want to start watching the DVD releases of (along with Howards' Way and the original Van der Valk).

In the last few weeks I'd read something on the web about Public Eye that I wanted to ask about, to see if it could be clarified. I know a lot of the episodes are lost and haven't survived, but what I read came across as confusing regarding why the show ended (was it the way the show was shot and Alfred Burke wanted it kept that way?).

Network did a DVD boxset of the surviving episodes, then much more recently Old Gold Media released a DVD boxset.

Do the BBC have any plans to release The Thin Blue Line on Blu-ray this year?

From looking at the back cover of The Complete Series DVD set below. The show is hitting 30 years old this year as Season 1 of it was aired in 1995.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thin-Blue-Line-Complete-DVD/dp/B000050GOW/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1I3BJY7FQKBOP&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.bXS okFB6PilPql1pvyknyKfPg8duw2KoEUugU0wMF7WOIFde-w0jmjleB_JhfwP5PDLV-o-Kq135-LPI6z_4KSSqezciMbeUF1osw8ZUzaT-0rJ1qdG3w0a1DGTC8e0z7ZytnXEKYOugY_L9zcexxMnmE50-f9FPEbwec2Bvro5XkobdWTpYs8sJwTH22_qxQ63ZlNILS9uM-LWpjLDE9T_QkEarcc0BG39bFrdSDZU.7SIhbgiyFNE5xaxfnI_ TfJhBPHt2uyPX1bnlkLfOiow&dib_tag=se&keywords=The+T hin+Blue+Line&qid=1756507850&s=dvd&sprefix=the+thi n+blue+line+%2Cdvd%2C133&sr=1-1

I would like to know what's the latest info about potential BBC Comedy Blu-ray releases like Keeping Up Appearances, The Victor of Dibley & The Complete Series boxset of Only Fools And Horses. Has there any progress been made by the BBC to get them onto Blu-ray in the near future?
