The film deserves to be a huge hit solely for being cool enough to reference DR PHIBES RISES AGAIN.

BOSTON — Marvel's next superhero movie, "Madame Web," which was filmed at several Massachusetts locations, will be released to theaters in February.

The movie — starring Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced and Emma Roberts — is scheduled to be released on Feb. 14. Johnson stars as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who develops the power to see the future, according to an IMDB summary.

Filming locations listed on IMDB include New England Studios in Devens and unspecified locations in Boston and on the South Shore. More specifically, a building with distinctive windows on Oliver Street in Boston appears at several points in the trailers and reports indicate that a diner set was erected for the production in Andover.

Scenes filmed in Boston appear to have been merged with shooting done in New York City, which is the main setting for the movie.

It is always weird when they do this on movies and shows. Pittsburgh is used as a stand in for New York. Then they use other locations as a stand in for Pittsburgh.

It's even weirder when they use Canadian locations to stand in for NYC.

Basically a reverse of The Departed, where NYC was the primary shooting location to stand in for Boston. I think Amazing Spider-Man 2 was the only Spidey movie to be totally shot in New York.

About time she did that.

Land of the Dead was filmed in Canada as a stand-in for Pittsburgh. Stigmata used Seattle.

Ummmm, Ellen got cancelled because she made it a hostile and toxic work environment for the crew. She's not a good person.

This looks more appealing than most of the SMU to date, even being so derivitive of other works. I'll probably end up seeing it, I just don't get the point.

They're doing all this ancilary Marvel stuff with no real connections or any kind of rhyme or reason. If the goal is for all of these to tie into their eventual Spider-Man film, they probably should be planning a bit better.

Madame Web is set to follow in the footsteps of hit Netflix series Jessica Jones, says director S. J. Clarkson, as she teases the Sony Marvel movie's "grounded" and "gritty" tone.

In the new issue of Total Film, which features Dune: Part 2 on the cover and is out this Thursday, the British filmmaker, who has worked on titles such as Orange is the New Black, Bates Motel, and The Defenders, describes Jones' and Madame Web protagonist Cassandra Web as "loners". Not only that, but they're both "a little bit abrasive, a bit quirky, and on the outer edges of things".

"With JJ, she had PTSD. That [sense of] reality to it was its success in a way. I suppose it's the same with Madame Web," she continues. Clarkson previously helmed the opening two episodes of Jessica Jones, 'AKA Ladies Night' and 'AKA Crush Syndrome', so it's no wonder the two titles have their likenesses.

Starring Adam Scott, Sydney Sweeney, Tahar Rahim, and Dakota Johnson, who can be seen in Total Film's exclusive image above, Clarkson's latest centers on New York-based paramedic Cassandra Web, whose clairvoyant abilities allow her to see into the "spider world" – and the future, too. When three young women with web-slinging abilities are threatened by a seemingly ruthless killer named Ezekiel Sims, Cassandra must use her powers to keep the trio safe.

nah, its the perfect response to your hilariously garbage post. Neither Ellen the show nor the person was "canceled". She decided not renew the show when the contract was up. Word got out that she was a sh-tty boss and her nice, stage persona was fake (one of those open secrets in Hollywood), which contributed to her decision not to renew. She could've renewed the show if she wanted or even gone on to do something else, there was no huge public backlash calling for her head, just a lot of "yeah I can see that".
Its just very silly for you to bring this up in this thread as you have attached Dakota to the "downfall" of Ellen (I honestly didn't know there was this level of Ellen fandom). I guess for Ellen diehards Dakota is the face of this "canceling" because of the awkward interview. Ellen asked the question, insisted she wasn't invited, when she was and her producer confirmed she was. Had a chance to get things back on track but kept going back to, purposefully, make it awkward.
This interview didn't get Ellen "canceled" but it helped solidify peoples opinions that she was phony and not a nice person.
Let me know if you have trouble understanding.

Presales are already better than Aquaman 2 and the budget is less than 100 million. Almost a third of what The Marvels did.

This will honestly do well imo. Won't be a humongous hit but it will definitely do better than The Marvels (much to the cry of rabid MCU fanatics lol).

Madame Web + Ghostbusters 5 = a pretty good double punch by Sony. One will do OK and the other one, probably even better.

I'm just shocked anyone actually gives any celebrity the benefit of the doubt. You may worship the ground they walk on but pretty much every one of them has been exposed as being absolute trash to one fan or staff member or another. I just surprised that we care that Ellen is not as sweet as she seems when none of them are.

Milton Keynes as Metropolis in Superman IV takes the biscuit.

A different city is used for Gotham in every movie including Pittsburgh.
