Well, flip the disc, turn it over and maybe it'll play nicely on the either side. These do playback like an LP, correct? If you don't like one side, you might be able to dance to the other.

Got my set in today courtesy of Amazon in their lovely cardboard eco-packaging which provides zero protection. A bit shocked to see it arrived in pretty good condition with no dents.

So I popped in the disc and it started skipping within one minute. I took the disc out and it is scratched to all eternity.

The photo doesn't do it justice. Even the BD is scratched but not as bad.


Oh Shout...how you continue to disappoint me. I'll be requesting a 4K and BD replacement.

I wonder what is causing the curved scratches that run along all or part of the disc. Vertical and horizontal scratches could, I suppose, be anything, but the curved ones surely have a specific culprit.

I’m just as curious about that as well. Something is out of calibration at their pressing plant. They really need to step up their quality control.

Judging strictly by the cap comparisons on caps a holic regarding the SF UHD vs. the Arrow BD, personally I prefer the Arrow BD. Compression, grain and detail look superior. Colors are a bit richer on the new scan though. The included remastered SF BD should be very similar to the UHD but unfortunately they didn't post any cap comparisons for the new BD. I don't see the new SF BD beating out the Arrow BD. That's just my take.

They said it would take 3-4 weeks for me to receive my 4K disc. Also mentioned that they're only in the office two days a week.

I really hope the surge in replacements will ignite a fire to upper management and we get some better quality control.

How do I go about getting a replacement? I bought the 4K Steelbook off Amazon. It plays fine up until when Tommy and Carrie are dancing at the prom then it stops and go back to the main menu.

Just ordered the steelbook off of Amazon. Hopefully my copy comes fine. If not, I'll just get it swapped from Amazon and hope for the best. After my nightmare with the Dragon Ball Super steelbook collection coming with scratched discs, I've gotten paranoid as hell about this issue and shine my phone's flashlight on all my new (and some of my old) BD discs to check for scratches. I used to not even think about it.

My disc looks to be not scratched I can’t see any marks. However after it started doing that I went into the settings. I changed the 24hz to 60hz and it played after Tommy and Carrie dancing at the prom. But now it’s getting weird little boxes and the screen goes black like every 2 mins. I did message them and they emailed me back saying to wipe the disc to see if that fixes it. I told them no and they said to send proof and a pic of the disc I need replaced and my address. Let’s hope this new disc isn’t messed up also.

Someone posted earlier that they got a message from shell factory saying that replacement discs will take about 3 to 4 weeks. Well, I just got the same message from them. I’m guessing shout factory is just copying and pasting the message and just changing the person name lol.

I don’t mean to give anyone FOMO, but my steelbook came from Amazon in pristine condition without a single scratch on any of the discs. Guess I got lucky this time.

I own both, and when actually viewed in person, it's not that close. The Shout is much better in motion. The caps don't have the extra layer of information provided by Dolby Vision either.
