For one, I show up 15-25 minutes late. I don't think I've ever missed the start of a movie, which is good. Second, I pop my head in there. If they're still playing, I'll just hang out in the lobby on my phone. I can generally tell when that Regal ad starts playing, then I'll pop in. If I absolutely have to wait in the theater, I'll throw on noise-canceling headphones and listen to something while they're playing, again looking down at my phone. I used to do the ridiculous "close my eyes and plug my ears, humming as something is playing," and you can call me a loser all you want, but at the end of the day I'm the one who gets to see that movie fresh as possible, where I hear everybody else to me "The trailer gave everything away." Now, if you've ever heard the quote citing what percentage of something you remember by your experience with it, it says we remember 20% of what we hear, but we remember 50% of what we see and hear. Even if I decided to just close my eyes while a trailer plays, the audio alone would likely not give away very much at all for me without the visual association (especially for a horror trailer, actually). If I have to catch a part of it, only the audio ain't that bad. Hope this helps! I agree though, I wish there were three trailers and then the movie started. |

I liked it, but the movie did just okay in theaters for finding an audience opening weekend. It had a lot of competition from other films. I hope it's enough to make a sequel as I'd like to see where else they can go with the stories and gags.
$30m worldwide after opening weekend, so it's going to need some serious replay value in week 2's audience to get a sequel for this Naked Gun reboot 2025. Quote:

I still like trailers, but only 1 time until I see the movie. I can see why you don't want to spoil things by seeing trailers and just base your interest on the other promotional material or story. For this movie, I watched only enough of the trailer 1 and 2 to get a sense of it, and then cut it off. Helped make the movie more of a surprise. |

Speaking of Liam Neeson movies and spoiler-y trailers, my favorite example of this is with the movie Non-Stop.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiHDJ19A3dk For those who haven't seen the movie, I recommend that you watch until the 0:54 mark. Great teaser length. If that isn't enough to hook you, then watch until 1:17. If that doesn't hook you, then don't watch the movie and feel free to watch the rest of the trailer. You'll see why I asked you to stop at either of those timestamps. I don’t see how more of the trailer will enthuse you more to see the movie, and that is exactly my point. If you're hooked at either one of those ending time stamps, stop the trailer then and don't see anything else until you see the movie. Unfortunately, trailers can't help themselves, and they reveal moments that may not give the entire outcome away, but reveal crucial third act plot points that you'd rather not know about going in to it. The local theaters I go to have the good sense of capping the trailers to three before the feature presentation. I feel bad for you sods that have to endure a tidal wave of them prior.

Unless this was made on a really low budget, I don't think enough fans showed up in theaters to support this Naked Gun reboot. But thanks to the fans who did support it so far. $30m worldwide on opening weekend is just okay, but maybe that's good for a comedy.
It'll need a big boost in week 2 or there won't be a sequel with more new antics and comedy. I did like this, but I think I'll be good with one movie if they only got to make this one. The original 3 are still king in my book for this series. The TV show is humorous, but not as funny as the movies. |

The teaser gave me the vibe that it'd be like that. I felt like they dropped the ball the moment they had all the characters looking at the pictures of their predecessors and Frank's wasn't the picture of him and the Queen again, that'd been a great callback since they also made that joke in 2.

So far the WW boxoffice is 36 million. It still has to be released in these countries: Hungary - August 7, 2025 Singapore - August 7, 2025 France - August 13, 2025 Brazil - August 14, 2025 Australia - August 21, 2025 (limited) Taiwan - August 22, 2025 Japan - September 12, 2025 Maybe it will rake in as much as twice the budget, but I don't see this do 100 million. Then again, who knows what can happen. |

For release dates, I bet the marketing team works on one thing at a time sometimes, and then gets to the smaller audience areas later on for a later release date. Plus having to get dubbing into different languages set up takes time.

It was a good effort though, considering they didn't get the original Zucker writers involved again unfortunately. I'm reminded of Seth McFarlane's A Million Ways to Die in the West comedy western, which surprisingly earned double its budget in ticket sales (breaking even I think since theaters maybe take 50+% opening weekend), with 87m worldwide. Liam Neeson was in that movie too. That was 2014, a Western, and did better than I would've expected. It was just okay I thought for a comedy. Things have changed for theaters since then. |

I'd love for the creative team behind Naked Gun '25 to do an AIRPLANE III reboot with a Shatner cameo.

Really surprised how enjoyable this ended up being overall. The first two-thirds had the right amount of jokes spread out and had the dozen or so of us in the theater laughing frequently. In the last third it lost some steam but still crossed the finish line with favor. Still, easily the most I've laughed at the movies in quite a long time.
This belongs firmly with the rest of the Naked Guns, just a hair beneath The Final Insult. Now if studios can figure out a way to get a streak going and get more effective comedies on the board. Would love to see more parodies, spoofs, or outright comedies make a comeback. Special shout out to buddy cop movies in particular! |

I saw this today and was disappointed. It was mildly amusing in places, but either the casting or the timing was off. I can see how what was written was meant to be in the same style as the Leslie Nielsen films, but it just wasn't very funny here. I suspect that Neeson was miscast, as he doesn't look too sure of what he's doing outside the action sequences, and there are some cringeworthy moments where characters make awkwardly inappropriate references, like the scene where Neeson and Danny Huston wax poetic about
[Show spoiler] . Pam looks great, but outside of one "musical number", she doesn't get to contribute a lot on her own. The coffee joke was also overdone. The movie is missing the thing that made the ZAZ humour great. Unfortunately, I don't know what that was, but I know it's not in this remake. |
