Got my order from casetopia on ebay today. 100% Elite cases. As mentioned before, he does have the 3,4,5,6 disc Elite cases, but they aren't listed yet.
This place is good for single disc Elite cases. They give you a much better deal per case and the shipping is low. Looks like you can get 25 cases for $15 shipped. http://www.discmakers.com/shop/ItemD...D=BDR025-00001 No 2-disc Elites though. |

He has 2 for $4.55 + free shipping. Those are the 2-disc Vortex that Sony and Disney use. This guy also has the 3-disc Elites that you're looking for, but he doesn't have them listed yet. |

Can someone help me, I want to take dvds I have and place them with the blu-ray versions, I'm wanting to buy 2 disc (12.5mm) and 3 disc (12.5mm) cases, in order to use the original coverart. I don't like the cases with "snap closures" on the side.

I contacted Scanavo (they have cases like those Criterion Blu-rays come in. However, min of 1000 cases must be ordered. Though, their staff was very nice and pointed me in the right direction: they gave me the direct contact info to their distributers. I just Emailed them today, so I will post here if I hear from them. Just in case anyone is looking.
Also, received L Femme Nikita today from BJs and it is in a vortex and the left top corner came sunk in and broken. No idea how it got that way: it was pretty well packaged and secure. Oh wells! Here I go to buy vortex cases again. My The Running Man came in a eco-elite. Any major problems people have found replacing their elites with vortexes? My Cloverfield BD is all rincled on the front (I bought it in a vortex, but seems the coverart is larger in the front). I have a feeling it would fit the Elite pretty well. Though it might be easier to fit coverart originally from Vortexes into Elites. The only thing I prefer about the Vortexes is the nice push buttons. Does anyone else throw out their slipcovers by the way? I have a ton laying around: Just don't like them. |

What slipcovers do you have laying around? I looked at your collection quick to see if you had any super rare ones I could screw you over on but I didn't see any movies with really expensive ones. You could list your slipcovers for sale in the slipcover sale thread in the trade forum, but they really only want them if they are near perfect mint and it's usually not worth the hassle to sell them individually. You could box up a whole bunch of them and sell them on ebay, for some reason those auctions usually end up at decent prices even if no rare ones are included. |

I am not really looking to sell them I guess. I don't believe I have any major ones to sell anyway. I have just started my collection a little while ago, so I don't have that many BDs in the first place. I guess I was just wondering if people usually keep them or not. I am just not a fan is all.
I am going to order a few Vortexes. Never thought about the fact they were longer on the edges: maybe my Cloverfield BD just has a badly cut off insert or something. I got it from ColumbiaHouse: haven't had issues with them so far, but I wonder if anyone has any experience with them? I heard a few horror stories in regards to their DVDs. Plus, unless you get a very major deal, it is cheaper to buy from amazon. No replys yet about the Scanavo BD cases. Those cases to me are the most awesome cases, though thicker. They are quite secure and protect the disc very well. I would like to place my collection in all 6mm Elites, but I wonder how much they protect the discs? |

I've moved as much of my collection as possible to the 6mm cases and they protect the disks just fine.
Any word on other places getting Viva Elites (multi disk cases) other than MegaDiskStore? I really hate being held to six bucks a case for them when the same storage from Vernon is less than half the price. Diskmakers has the singles listed at cheap costs, but so far they only list the standard sized single cases. |

So, I still haven't decided whether or not I am going to move my BDs into the slim cases as I've done with my DVDs since I am not sure what I would do about cover art. Don't mind having the cover art in storage for my DVDs, but would like to keep it on my BDs. I am still considering just replacing all of my cases with one type of regular size case or the other. What I have been wondering is why most seem to prefer the 12.5 mm cases and not the thinner 11mm cases? Is it solely because of the lock tab? Though I haven't tried it, I thought the lock tab could be folded back out of the way. I haven't really explored the differences in the cases my BDs come in, so I am unsure if there are other reasons like better material, better disc hubs or anything other than the lock tab. Generally, I lean towards the thinner the better, and whether or not the tabs can be folded back I don't mind them as much as the annoying little double locks on locking DVD cases, but if there are other reasons, I might look more closely at going with the 12.5mm cases instead. Been meaning to ask this for a while, even if I go with 6mm cases, I will have to choose which brand and choose which brand for 3 disc plus replacement cases, so I might as well get all the info I can. I've read all of the great info posted on case types and perhaps I missed some details with all of the information overload, sorry if that is the case, I just didn't find anything beyond the lock tabs that would explain the preference to me.
Thanks, Chris |

Hi guys. I decided I will just replace them all with Vortexes. The Vortexes are the 11mm cases. Today I was looking at a few of my cases and I decided I enjoy the Vortex better due to the push buttons to hold the discs instead of the CD case like disc holders of the Elites. The lock tabs are easily folded into the case and actually attach to the inside of the case so that it stays out of the way when opening and closing the case. Further, it doesn't get in the way of the discs.
Looking through the websites provided on the first page, I can get 10 singles and 10 doubles for only 16 bucks from Sleevetown (no shipping). That is about 20 dollars with shipping. I like that idea. However, for multi-discs I will stick with Elites due to the fact they are thinner than the Vortexes. I guess, each one has their own advantages. I do feel the Vortexes protect the disc better though and I am having lots of problems with Elites cracking on the top edge of the case. If any of you know the Planet Earth case, you know that the top edge of the case, the spine of course, can easily crack. Had not noticed it before, but my Planet Earth and my Blade Runner both are cracked and barely holding. My 7 disc Elite for the Rocky collection had the same issue, and that was in even worse conditions. I could go 100% Vortex, but I am not good at all about creating art work. Though replacing my digibook cases would be great. I could probably find art work already made which I could print out. Contacted Mega Disc Super Stores to ask about 7 or 8 disc Elites and was told they don't carry them, but are looking to carry them in the near future. So, hopefully I will be abel to replace this Rocky case: I am afraid my discs will get messed up. There is no keeping this case together, it is literally in pieces. Also, no Scanavo info yet. All the best to all, Max |

Diskmakers does have great prices. You should email them and request that they carry the multi-disc cases. Originally they only carried the single disc elite and then last year they made a decision to replace it with the single-disc Vortex. They had a number of customers that were not happy with that decision but after many requests they brought it back. I'm sure if they get enough requests they'll add the other multi-disc cases as well ... the key is there needs to be enough demand from customers to make it a viable option.

Hey guys, I'm looking for some 3-disc cases that are the same width as the 1 or 2-disc cases. Movies such as "The Dark Knight" have come in these, whereas the ones I seem to find on these sites are fatter, like the ones that Disney Blu-rays come in. Any idea where I can buy the thin ones?

If you are only looking for a few, stay tuned as I may possibly have some of these 12.5mm 3-disc Viva Elite cases for sale soon. I usually take digital copies out of 3-disc sets and downsize them into a 2-disc case so I may end up with some spare excellent condition ones to sell. I will post here when I decide what I have available for sale. |
