HI all

Sorry to bother everyone, watching this now. Can someone comment on the difference between the Dolby 2.0 mix and the surround sound? I have a stereo setup, no surround sound. I am assuming that either the mixes will be identical or the 2.0 will have a more forward dialogue track?

And I did a search on this and did not find details I apologize if someone posted already posted on this

Thanks Mark

Oh and I agree with the last 2 posts. I did not like the Gotham-Chicago change seemed lazy. But for the third one I was over it and was ok with NY. But I would prefer if Nolan maintained it as a unique city for all 3

The 2.0 mix should normalize things a bit, including making the dialogue easier to discern on your setup. Of course, what should happen and what actually happens can vary. Try both.

Was a little bummed that the AO on the packed-in DVD version of the film is cropped at 2.40:1 for the duration, rather than varying as the BD presentation does

Yes switching between the 2 the dialogue is better pronounced. More blus used to have a 2.0 and I kinda miss it because sometimes dialogue is muffled in films when listening to a movie

Thanks for the feedback

I watched the blu ray tonight of dark knight rises. it was excellent. however with those that have a receiver. did you notice the right speaker for when bane was talking? I remember in the theatre it was in all speakers. I was able to hear him better in the blu ray mix. I did not like it when I saw it in the theatre. I enjoyed it alot more at home on blu ray.
I also had issues with the chicago being gotham in dark knight. it made it heard to believe that batman lived in that world. It was certainly more believable in begins and rises then dark knight.

I have one that's sealed, so debating what to do with it.
My local Best Buy had a TON still in stock as of tonight around 8:30

Could someone who owns the best buy steelbook please post a photo of the included discs? I own the Cowl edition and the discs are black/clear. I just bought the trilogy tonight and the discs are black/white/blue.

The text says "Now that you own The Dark Knight Trilogy add it to your digital collection with UltraViolet". Sounds like the whole ball of wax to me.

The only set in the US that has different disc art is the Trilogy set. Everything else (regular combo pack, steelbook, digibook and cowl) have the same black/clear discs. I know because I own them all.

Roger. So then the trilogy is the only set to have the BB exclusive Reborn doc, and the steelbook falsely advertises the included feature?

Only the Steelbook has the Reborn doc, not the Trilogy.

To anyone having a difficult time hearing the dialogue over the loud sound in this film, try engaging your dialogue enhancer somewhere in setup on the blu-ray player or receiver. That could work as it has brilliantly for me on all my blu-ray films. I use PCM output as the player I own has this neat feature. I don't own this film yet, but I bet the dialogue enhancement will fix it's fault.

Yeah, Some of the IMAX shots didn't look as good as The Dark Knight Bluray.

The opening plane sequence didn't exactly look like it was shot in true IMAX, IMO it looked just as bad some of the 2:35 scenes, which I found most to be either to dark or dingy.

My receipt and disc included in the trilogy say otherwise.

Here's my point:

I own the Cowl, black/clear discs. No documentary.

I own the exclusive trilogy from Best Buy. Black/blue/white discs. Reborn doc printed on disc.

I saw pics of the best buy steelbook opened, with the same plain discs as my Cowl edition. So why doesn't the steel from best buy have the same discs as the exclusive trilogy, and where is the documentary when you buy the steel?

The Reborn Doc. is included on the Special Features disc of the Steelbook Edition and only a selected amount of the box set Trilogy Edition (according to the Best Buy website). The Cowl edition does not include the Reborn doc. The discs from the Cowl edition are the same from the regular combo pack. I don't own the exclusive trilogy set from Best Buy, just the Steelbook.

As far as the look of the Trilogy set, personally I'm not a fan of how the Trilogy set looks. It's a bit too bulky, it's DVD case size, and the artwork is ok, but not great. This is just another marketing ploy by Warner Bros. for folks to come out and re-purchase the Batman Trilogy when the (Ultra Slick, Ultra Cool) Ultimate Edition comes out next year.
