Twilight Time also hinted at 1776 on their Facebook page.

In A Lonely Place could be a Criterion title, and some rumors about Foreign Correspondent are whirling around ..those and the Blob would be a nice threesome from Criterion. Better Criterion then Twilight because for the same price you get more from Criterion.

I'm thinking about getting Rushmore, but the only Wes Anderson film I've seen is Fantastic Mr. Fox. Somehow I managed to avoid Anderson films all this time.
Just got done watching Being John Malkovich again - on HD DVD. :P My last viewing was on laserdisc around the time that came out. Still a great flick. ![]() |

I just watched Rushmore on blu - it was stunning. The picture quality is outstanding. As for the film itself - I thought it was quite brilliant. I don't really get the dislike for this director as evidenced by comments here and there. WA has a particular style that is clearly not to everyone's taste, but his talent is undeniable. I think perhaps people get annoyed with him because his presence as director is so much at the forefront, almost as much as his characters - but if you go with it, it's a ride worth taking, IMO.

People who've received their account credit say you get an email. I've gotten no such email, and it's been several months since I did the replacement. Hmmmmm....

I don't get the hate for Anderson either.
I dont' really remember Rushmore all that well. Haven't seen it since it's original theatrical release. I do recall really liking it. Of course, I was about 15 then. I'm definitely looking forward to getting the blu and visiting it again. Tenenbaums has always been one of my favorites, and it has held up over the years to repeated viewings. Moonrise Kingdom was not nearly up there with Tenenbaums for me, but was still a terrific film. So I guess that leaves me with two films I"ve never seen to judge his overall output. Darjeeling limited and Life Aquatic can't be THAT bad, can they? ![]() |

I think much more ridiculous threads show up elsewhere in the forum...the ones where people ask very general questions about which new releases they should blind-buy (as if they need to buy something new every week), and give no indication to what their film interests are. |

It wouldn't surprise me if Criterion released Funny Girl. They haven't had the chance to release a big Hollywood musical yet. William Wyler is also one of those great Hollywood directors that is not represented in the collection as of yet.
Suddenly, Last Summer is another highly likely title. It's a much better Tennessee Williams adaptation than The Fugitive Kind and is also directed by Mankiewicz; another major director not represented in the collection. Last edited by ianungstad; 07-09-2012 at 04:04 AM. |

Haha, yeah. I had emailed them prior but didn't hear back for a while. I was just confused and anxious because I've been waiting for that blu for over a month man. I guess they will have it back in stock the first week of August from what they told me, so if any of you are looking to pick it up it will probably be cheaper than the $33 tag on it now when they do. |
