^ I bet it will priced the same, despite having fewer episodes. Viz loves to price gouge.

Looks like they're using the old Viz Media logo on the spine to keep continuity.

I actually would have been fantasically happy with Sailor Moon on BD if it was an SD on BD release from Discotek. It would have been handled with care.

Good. If you’re a fan, I’d recommend getting the Australian Madman DVDs instead.

The S DVD uses the same master that the Dynit DVD uses like S1 and R. No idea where it originated from.

That's what I did for R and S, I also already had the S1 Japanese DVDs, I did get the Super S set though as I thought they finally started doing them right with that set

How has nobody linked to this yet? http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthr...iz-Sailor-Moon
I think the screenshots speak for themselves.

I agree with what most of the others in this thread have said (especially professorwho); criticism is the only way we're going to improve things. If you're going to put out a crap release for one of the anime responsible for making anime known/popular in the west then that shows a tremendous lack of respect and you deserve every ounce of criticism that can be levied at you.

Because we all know this. That’s why it wasn’t linked.

Sure, but OP apparently doesn't get it. The visuals could help them understand why.....maybe.

If the OP still doesn’t get it...

Here’s a comparison I made, and here are screenshots of the superior Australian Madman DVD release.

And this ultimate video comparison:

I think I remember seeing those pics on the main Sailor Moon Blu-ray thread.

I will say that when comparing the 2 same screenshots I can definitely tell a difference, and the lack of quality from the Viz screenshot. However, without these direct comparisons (and now obviously wishing that what we got truly was better) I would be okay with watching the Viz release. My unknowledgeable arse would probably just think it’s intentional and that it was originally made that way.

Honestly, with those... they look exactly the same to me, minus the obvious lack of black bars.

I'm still not really a fan of the overall magenta push that the Madman DVDs have; better than Viz in terms of detail at least. The best that the classic series will ever look is from the "Make-up! Sailor Guardians" Blu:

In a perfect world, the remaster looks similar to this.

Yeah, not the best comparison. I’ll try to make a better one in the next few days. Hopefully then it’ll be more helpful.
