The thing is DF hasn't seen the numbers behind other labels... It seems that a limited version followed by an "unlimited" version is actually the way to go. Simply include a good booklet/slipcover or something in the limited version and collectors/fans will buy it quickly so not to miss out.

Shit, DF acts like selling half of a 500 run is a big win when other labels are doing 1k runs and preselling them long before anything ships...

I've figured it out. Dark Force is run by Uwe Boll.

...you mean like VS selling 3k copies of Mausoleum in a day, when Bill complained that he couldn't bother releasing it, because no one would buy it?

Other labels treat their customers with respect and don’t play games with their releases making consumers jump through hoops at midnight on a Friday night just to spend $30

I was actually exhausted on Sunday from running around to hospitals with Bill, handling Dark Force business and other business I have. When I'm really tired my speech ends up sounding like a drunk. I would normally never be that bad although I don't think I would make a good public speaker, I say "you know" too much.

I actually question those numbers but I hope for their sake it's exaggerated. They are in the process of being sued by the rights holder for not having permission to release.

Somehow I doubt that. VS doesn't seem like the type of label to release something unless they knew 100% they had the rights to do so.

You can’t really question that number though, unless you live in some alternative reality with alternative facts to the reality. The reality is that the first run was 3,000 slipcovered units for a Black Friday sale. They sold out that weekend. They even opened up a standard edition preorder to meet demand.

Now they’ve got a standard edition for sale and I’m sure it’s moving quite a few units because they have a store that’s open and some good, wide distribution. But that dead horse has been beaten so many times.

Everybody knows bru-lays only sell 300 copies. VS must have slipped and added an extra 0 at the end. That's the only logical explanation.

You should question those numbers as they didn't actually sell 3000 copies. The amount of fake news in this thread is shocking.

In reality, VS actually sold far in excess of 3000 copies of Mausoleum given that once they sold the 3000 copies in a couple of hours they took orders for the second pressing.

Could you imagine if df got Mausoleum? Selling 300 copies every two weeks till you had sold literally hundreds of copies over the space of a month.

40K for one movie, 100K for three Italian ones, 20 grand here, 30 grand there. And he lives in that trash strewn hovel in Skid Row LA? I hope he at least has a non-HMO health insurance

Here's the real deal

Man did they both rip Vinegar Syndrome and from the sounds of it, Joe Rubin (I recall making fun of his young age?)

Side note: I spent at this point, nearly $200 on this sale and am trying to force myself to stay off of Vinegar Syndromes site so I don't keep spending.
There have been a number of titles that Bill has claimed to have valid contracts for that ended up being released by other companies, noticeably absent any sort of legal defense from him. The Mutilator and The Slayer immediately come to mind. He's particularly (and childishly) bent out of shape over VS these days, but that seems due to the immediacy of the Mausoleum release. Now that the LE blu was such a rousing success, he will likely continue bloviating along the same lines. Nothing will come of it, though.

Don't know why defalco thinks his customer base is so stupid. Every time he posts now, people rush to find the truth.

You know, I want SCREAMS OF A WINTER NIGHT, but I’m not going to shed a tear if it doesn’t happen. After a while, the “scarcity ploy” puts a bad taste in my mouth and I move on to other things. Nothing CR has in current release is that important to my collection. These folks are their own worst enemy from a business perspective.

It's funny how quick df is to attack another label for selling a title that he thinks another owns, remember when in the video he was acting tough and saying "if anyone messed with df I would hurt them" when he is still selling Spontaneous Combustion a title that neither df or CR have the rights to.

I'd buy it if I ran across it at a pawnshop, but I won't go out of my way.

He owns it exclusively,

Some fans got it, many got scalped for it,
and many can't get it at all.

Should be widely available as he is the sole source,

Bill chooses to play games.

I would wish Bill to fully recover
but the experience of dealing with the Cartel and now DF....
done with that.

This is me; I own several Code Red titles and even bought a couple of titles from the Dark Force store when it first opened but their carnival side show method of salesmanship (plus the store being closed 90% of the time) has made me an ex-customer. I realize I will possibly miss out on a couple of titles I would like to have but it's not worth the hassle to me. I refuse to support his clown show. Besides, there are plenty of titles out there to keep me happy.

Didn't Cutting Class also power through a similar number of discs in a similar timespan? Or was that just the 5 slipcovers flying out the door that I remember?
