I’ve never seen this on home video and I haven’t followed the thread too closely so forgive me if this has already been discussed, but has the intense ghosting effect around the 28:45 mark always been there? By and large this looks about how I expected it to, but I didn’t expect that.

I never noticed any goof, so for me, a preservation of the 1997 version would be great if it can exist (but it won't).
No, they didn’t. It’s the 1997 logo as originally seen in cinemas and video.

The Fox logo has been changed since it's no longer "20th Century Fox" but "20th Century Studios" after Disney acquired 20th Century Fox.

After watching the UHD in full tonight, then watching and sampling large parts of the original bluray, I feel the UHD gets more right then wrong and it edges out the bluray for me.

And now im out of this thread cause it looks like it's about to be hijacked by the same 2-3 posters over the next month or two (Godfather thread flashbacks).

If you mean the Fox logo in terms of general post-takeover usage, yes it got changed. If you mean Titanic then...no. It's the 1997 Fox logo on the Disnee UHD. Hell, it even comes with a copy of the 2012 Blu which has the old Fox branding all over its presentation.

Yes, it's always been there and is caused by the extremely bright backlight (see how they're lit from behind?) reflecting back inside the lens. We really need to add this to the Titanic bingo card

Someone here said it was the new one, now you're saying it's the old one?

It is the 1997 logo on the Disnee UHD. Can't make it any plainer than that.

Oh that's great then. I thought I read someone here say that they used the "20th Century Studios" logo in the international release than the old "20th Century Fox" one.

It's also interesting that they use the 1997 logo on the UHD, yet, it's the 2012 version of the film with quite a few corrections and alterations to the original film. Plus, now you have the AI image manipulation on top of it. Yet, they chose the old '97 logos. Are all the discs outside the US one released by Disney?

Is the UK 4K in a standard US sized case or a thicker UK size case?

Thinking I may import the UK and throw it inside my US Slipcover

It's about the missing line. It only exist on the 2.0 on the Disney disc.

I wanted to post this yesterday already when I saw your new Fox logo comment, but got distracted... (the timestamp is yesterday's - I didn't rename the file )

Anyway, another yes, my Scandi disc has this Fox intro (and I thought that maybe I am missing something here):

I was wondering it that was what caused it, but the back lighting in quite a few scenes is intense yet that's the only time it really stood out to me. Looked like Billy Zane was trying to duplicate himself, which wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Zane understood the assignment well and made us hate Cal. So, job well done. I loved him as the Phantom. I grew up reading the Sy Barry and Wilson McCoy era comics and thought he portrayed the role perfectly. Can't imagine anyone else as Phantom.
