I could be wrong but when I say that i swear I had seen that before. and I believe he said it to Sawyer also.
No; quite the opposite. That's why they played that 'shocking moment' music when Hurley told Sawyer that. I thought it was hilarious when Sawyer perked up when he heard that Hurley won the lottery.

Also, Locke/Jack convo was awesome, and Flocke/Ben convo was awesome. Really great episode.

Perhaps Desmond was never training for the race around the world, and had never met Jack in the alternate timeline.

They haven't named him on the show yet, but the actor's name is Hiroyuki Sanada. He was also in "the Last Samurai" My wife who is Japanese was so happy he is on the show. She even recognized him from the comercials for last nights episode. He is super popular in Japan and she say his english is actually very good.

I think he was only looking at Locke because he hadn't realized that Locke was paralized and was surprised by it. Remember, when Locke first got on the plane, the boarded him first to get him in his seat as it would be easier before everyone else got on. That is why no one on the island knew that he couldn't walk before.
Right, but why wouldn't Desmond remember Jack? Obviously this timeline has changed (as things are different on the plane - like Shannon not being there) so if Jack and crew changed things starting back in 1977, would Jack and Des still meet at the stadium??

For the exchange between Locke and Jack - I understand that the survivors really didn't know about Locke's inability to walk - however, in this timeline, Locke and Jack are strangers, but yet Jack seems surprised to see Locke in a wheelchair. (opposed to just another stranger in a wheelchair.)

He had a hint of remembering him for some reason though.

I'm really wondering what's going to happen with everyone in the normal universe sans island. I think Juliet caught a glimpse of her other life if the bomb was successful because she was close to death. So if you die on the island, the island lets you die, you return to the normal world. The catch is you wouldn't be aware of any of it.

Yes, I know. But the numbers trace back to the island. And in this new timeline, the island is under the sea. The numbers may have never made their way to Hurley. Or perhaps, with the island under the sea, the numbers are no longer "cursed".

yea maybe your right but he still won the lotto with those numbers, i assume, so somehow the numbers did get back to him.

and you could be right, if the island is under the sea maybe they are not cursed

I think somehow Jack has a hint of remembering everything that happened on the island. Only Jack.

He obviously never previously met Desmond in the flash-sideways, though. Desmond would've remembered. (They very clearly and quickly remembered that meeting in the hatch). The meeting never took place because Desmond never trained for this sail and never intended to go to the island and in fact never went to the island in the flash-sideways.

Right, and Charlie also had a hint of knowing he should have died. Weird!

see i thought that too but he did swallow the heroin so maybe he was trying to just kill himself. but it would be awesome if they tied his death in like that.

I really wish they had just given the Man in Black/Monster a proper name last night. I can't imagine why his name needs to be kept a secret. During the scene where he walks out and faces Richard (when he makes the chains reference), they could have simply had Richard say his name in disbelief. It would certainly make discussing his character on message boards much easier.

I'm surprised there isn't more talk of Christian and how he plays into everything.

It didn't click for me until the recap, but Christian appears to be similar to the reborn Locke - but he was also helping Jun find Sun?

I guess it is possible Christian and Locke were one and the same, but that doesn't seem to make sense to me.

[Show spoiler]
We know the smoke monster can appear to look like people who died on the island (Locke, Ekko's brother, Ben's Daughter) but Christian seemed to know more about the time travelers than Locke did - and seemed to push Jun to the reborn John Locke to find them.

Christian has also been appearing off and on to Jack since the begining - we've been given no indication that that was Jacob's friend/the smoke monster's doing. On the other hand, Christian was the one who set Locke on the path back to the normal world (and his eventual death).

I feel like I'm either missing a piece with Christian or he is an important key to all of this. Is it possible that he is a third special resident of the island? Maybe one that is playing the other two against each other or knows certain things need to occur? If Jacob and the other guy are angels/demons, could Christian be God?

If the people Jacob meant are coming when he died were the time travelers and Locke/Christian already knew this, what was the point? And is it just coincidence that in the flash-sideways Christian's body is suddenly missing?

Or maybe I'm just reading into things too much.

This is exactly what I was thinking but I'll go a bit further with it. I think if you were on the orginal flight then you cant die until you have filled the role that jacob has given you. Thats why Sayid didnt die for good, just a near death experience.

Since Juliet wasnt on his list then she was allowed to die, stay dead, and return to the normal reality (or alt-reality, who knows which one is correct) with no memories of the island. Like mikejet said, she was close to death so she could see a sliver of what was coming and knew that it worked
