Changed direction from getting the Dune HD 8K Max, and ordered a OWC Mercury Elite Pro Quad enclosure, and a pair of 12TB WD Red Pluses (for noise considerations) from Best Buy.

I'd been eyeing up that enclosure as a Plan B for some time (it's supposed to be fairly quiet and well-built), and was planning on getting a couple of new 3.5" drives in the near future, and the likely price increases spurred me to action.
