It's really tough to do though if you have a stand that's a few years old, since they'll likely have been discontinued. However, a good diligent search may turn up something.

John
As far as Amazon, they seem to just raise and lower prices for no appearant Reason.

Give it a Little while and they will probably lower the price again
(but chances are it wont go as low as it was)
So I will wait and look around.

And my Dad has the exact same rack,I have
(We bought them at the same time)
So I may be able to work out something with him.

The main issue I may have is them being too wide for my Front Soundstage.
But I will do some measuring today(Before I even mention it to my Dad)

It would be Really Sweet if they would fit and he would let me use it.
We shall see(as I would need every shelf on both units with the SACD Player and my current amp,and the two additional amps) Which can also change depending if I go with MonoBlocks or not.

Good morning Todd. The tubes are up and running and it sounds great. I got goosebumps listening to music. The oppo seems to work great as I watch 'Taken' last night. I have 2 sacds ordered and coming next week. Person I bought the oppo from left a sacd in it so I'll get to try that out this weekend. I'm looking forward to it. Have you ordered any sacds or did you hold off because of amazon's price fluctuation?

Good Morning Sean,my Friend.
Somehow I figured that the Cary would Blow You Away
(Just wonder how Amazing it would sound with te Venna Acoustics Speakers).

And getting the Oppo was a Great addition.
For Video and Audio. Its one of the Finest Players on the Market(Regardless of Price)
And having a SACD included doesnt sound too bad either.

Dennis included a SACD Sampler Disc,in with the Player.
Then I had placed two SACD's in my Amazon Cart yesterday.
I was planning on ordering them this weekend(when I figured out what I will have left, after all the Neccesary Purchases)
But in typical Amazon fashion they raised the Price on the John Legend SACD from $6.99 to $10.49.

So,I dont know if I will get that one(or not)
However I do know I will at least get the Other Disc I had placed in my Cart.

But I am Truly Happy for you getting the Components to get that Cary Running.
What kind(Brand)of cables are you using with the Cary and the Arcam, and Oppo.

And thanks for that last PM.
I didn't even see where he got those.
But your idea is a good one.And I think it would work out for him.

I will say, that Your Bedroom is one of the Finest Set-Ups
and Systems,I have seen.

Great Work and Great Components,my Friend.

So far I'm using linn ic's that D shipped to me for my birthday (thanks again d). I might eventually get all the xlo ones (I need 4 for my 2 channel setup...I've got 2 now) or get all new ic's regardless. The living room still is in need of ic's also for my NAD amp. Had a change of events fund wise so I can focus on paying down debt and do some upgrades here and there.

John,

I love flickr. I can get lost looking at pictures for hours. Check out my pics. My flickr site is in my signature.

I'm off to to take my son to a birthday party this afternoon. I've been a little under the weather lately, as well as re-installing my entire laptop. It crashed big time, so I figured it was as good a time to upgrade to Windows 7. I've spent the last two days getting it configured and software installed to my liking. I've also been cleaning out my backups and getting rid of files I no longer need or were duplicates. My 500GB backup drive was almost full. I've clear 120GB of garbage and duplicate files from it. I'm still considering another backup drive dedicated to either my pictures or music. Or maybe keep this one for laptop backups and get a new 2 TB one for Multimedia files. I found a nice Buffalo one for $275, which is far less than the $400 I paid for my current 500GB one.

Trying to take it easy, my friend. I have to work tomorrow morning, and I will be watching the race and the hockey final tomorrow afternoon (unfortunately they are both on at the same time).

Today I plan to be lazy and relax! Maybe watch a blu or two, maybe play a video game (something I haven't really done in almost a year). Final Fantasy XIII comes out in about a week and a half, so I'm gearing up for that. Going to be taking a week off from work next month to do some of these projects around the house (paint, black out curtains, etc for the projector). I had hoped to have the projector already by that time, so I can actually work on installing it that week, but the IRS threw me a curve ball. So even if I get the money back before then, I still have to order the projector, screen, mounts, etc. Not likely to get all that done before my vacation.

How's it going with you my friend? What have you got planned for this weekend?

Hey Hammie,my Friend.
I am Doubly Sorry for you.

First,Sorry to hear that you have been under the weather
(Seems to be a lot of that going around now)
I hope you are getting better, and will be back to full strength before too long.

Also sorry to hear about the Computer Crash.
I hate those with a Passion.Happened to me last August, and lost a Lot of Stuff,I was stupid, and didn't have back ups for
(Especially both Music Files and Pics)

I think going with the 2 TeraByte HD would be the best choice(though we both know in 4 months it will be about 33% cheaper in price).

I remember my first External HD for a desktop.
250 gb with Card Reader from Western Digital(and ran about $399)
Then I got one for my other laptop and it was an 80gb for $99.00.
Now its amazing what the new sizes are priced at.

I hope to possibly see you around the Forum a little more often, when you have a chance,Hammie.
If not just shoot me an E-Mail or something, every so often.

And I remember many, many, months ago you mentioned that B&W needed to eliminate the 700 Series.Since the 600's and 800's were getting all of the Sales.

Well when I visited the Website to plan for my amp purchases and speaker upgrades(I think they did it)
The 700's were gone.
Hard to believe. So its a nice little gap now between the top 600's and entry 800's
(If you can even say entry and 800's in the same sentence).

But I hope you(and your Family)Have a Great Saturday,my Friend.

And,it was good to see you on the forum,Hammie.

Hey cB,my Friend.
I hope you are doing well Buddy.

There wont be any Painting this Weekend.

My Dad went to the Doctor Thursday(Because he was feeling really sick)And this man will never admit he feels Bad.
And you can NEVER get Him into a Doctors Office.

So when he got up Thursday Morning and told my Mom to make him a Doctors Appointment, for that day;I knew he was really Bad.

He has Both a Upper Respitory Infection and Stept Throat.
So,there wont be any painting.
He even tried to convince me that he could take me to go get everything. And that he could even do all the Tapeing and cutting in at the bottom of the walls.

But,I wasn't hearing any of that.
The Paint and tape will still be at Lowes, and the walls will still be in my room(later this week or next weekend)
He needs to rest, take his medicine, and recover.

So,its all good. The Futon and SACD Player(Dennis Kindly Gave Me)Are still both scheduled to be here Monday.
So I will just check the Futon to make sure all the pieces were included and nothing is damaged. Then we can put it together after we do Paint later in the week(or during the weekend).

And,A BIG THANKS to my Dad.
I have a Small Three-Shelf AV Rack that is holding everything it can now.
So,I cant find another one like it(Since it was 2008)when I got it.
I need a New one thats short, and I can fit near the one in my Room
(So I dont have to but New Longer Cables)

My Dad bought his AV Rack/TV Stand, the same day I did in 2008.
So,he said I can just take his and buy him one to hold the
TV and Satelitte HD Box.

That helps so much.
It will give me enough shelfs to hold the SACD Player
and my Rotel Amp(Along with a Few New Amps)

So if I go with two Emo UPA-2's or one UPA-2 and
Two UPA-1's(MonoBlocks)with
adding the Rotel still(either set-up).

I will have the room.

I am just going to slide the racks a little further back towards the wall.
Then get a Stand for my Center Speaker
(Which will Probably be the First of the New Speakers,I Purchase).

So it was a Good News/Bad News weekend.

But you just do what you can
(and it will still get painted)

Just will be delayed for a few days.

Hi Lou

Gonna have a look after this post at your Flikr pages and see if I can scoop some nice shots for my desktop...! Unless of course they are copy-protected.

How are you liking WIN7 up to now? I love it. Much better than that wacky Vista! I have a 500GB in my new Dell Inspiron 545 and an external WD 320GB I bought 2 years ago. Still have plenty of room on both.

Hope you're feeling better soon and have fun at the birthday party!

John

Good idea making a deal with your dad for matching stands. I have been thinking if I get more gear, I will have to get the same stand. Maybe I should order it now. I also like the idea of having equipment on 2 separate stands rather than 1 big one, for vibration isolation.
I wont even weigh myself at home.
I just wait until I go to the Pain Doctor Each Month.
Then just base everything on what I weigh at their office.

But,like Vega mentoned,I have seen my weight loss slow down, somewhat.
So,it may be at a point that I can only loose a few pounds a Month
(Since I cant do much on the exercising end).

But as long as I either lose a couple of pounds a month,or stay level
(Without gaining any weight)I will consider it a success.

And,I had never really thought about using two smaller stands to help eliminate vibrations.
But I can see where that could be an Advantage.

I was needing a Shorter rack so it wouldn't interefere with the
View of my Projection screen.

Since,if I did get a taller unit I would have to move it to a side wall
(Which would require several new cables from the increased distance
to the speakers
).

But,if you maintain your diet schedule,
I would think by March 17th the scales should show you a noticeable change.

You have some Nice Cables with the Linn IC's.That was, yet, another Generous move by Dennis
(He is certainly one Kind and Caring Individual)
A Definite Asset to the Forum.

And the xlo cables are great quality as well.
I was always an AudioQuest Fan since
I started using them about 16 years ago.

But as of now,I dont have any AQ Cables,I'm using.
I do think in my Container of Cables I have one or two pairs of AQ IC's from my very first system in 1995.

But I also have some Monster,Phoenix Gold,Belkin, and a few other brands.
In everything from S-Video Cables to Component Video Cables.

But,I can say out of All the Cables I have owned or used.
The cables Rich was so kind with(King Cables from Vintage Audio Labs/VALAB)are the Largest,Most Detailed in Construction,
and The Heavyest/Largest Diameter Cables I have Used.

And just for an FYI on Amazon:Pangea
(A company that makes cables,Speaker stands, and other products)Has a Huge Sale going on
Right Now.
So,you might want to just give them a look or a try.

I Like how you Think.
External Upgraded Digital to Analog Converters(DAC's),Power Centers/Line Conditioners/Upgraded Power Cables.
You know how to extract every ounce of performance from your gear.

But,Like Myself, you also know to get quality products
and use those first, before going after the details.
Where,I could remember seeing individuals come in to get $300.00 worth of Speaker Cables for a $250.00 Pair of Speakers.
But to each,their own.

I just wish You the upmost Sucess in Getting
The Absolute Best Performance you can from All of your Systems,
as well as your gear.

Thanks cB,Buddy.
I appreciate the Kind Wishes.

And I know what its like to be so sick, but still try to work
(and do similar things)Its No Fun,and something someone shouldn't have to endure(Especially a Retired 67 year Old Heart Patient).

So,waiting just makes sense.

Also,I am thrilled about the AV Rack.
I didn't know what to do.I thought I would end up with Two Racks that looked different. And,I didn't want that.

So,My Dad Understanding was a Great Gesture on his Part.
And,now I just have to find him a stand ASAP,so I can get his.
Because I cant have it until he has one to replace it.

But I think the fact I gave him my TV,and he got to go
from a 26 inch LCD to a 37 inch LCD,may have also played a role.

So,it will be nice when I get pics of the room completed with
Paint,Twin Racks,New Futon,and my Closet Set-Up with my Collectibles
.

The difference should be like Night and Day.

Hey Gates,my Friend.
Thanks for the Kind Post and Comments.

My Dad is still sick,so hopefully a few more days on the antibiotic and he will start getting over this.As its only Day Three on the medicine.

So,I figure Monday or so,he should get to feeling normal.
Then, if we have a day where my Mom doesn't have an appointment during the week
(We can go and pick up the Paint and supplies)

Then when the weekend gets here we can start painting Friday or Saturday.
Then by Sunday or Monday we should have the Painting done,

Thanks for the Kind Post and Comments.

My Dad is still sick,so hopefully a few more days on the antibiotic and he will start getting over this.As its only Day Three on the medicine.

So,I figure Monday or so,he should get to feeling normal.
Then, if we have a day where my Mom doesn't have an appointment during the week
(We can go and pick up the Paint and supplies)

Then when the weekend gets here we can start painting Friday or Saturday.
Then by Sunday or Monday we should have the Painting done,
the New Futon Assembled, and the additional equipment added to the system.
(Rotel Amp and SACD Player).
Cool, can't wait to see pics of your new room !
